Simple Woman’s Daybook Monday, March 23

For Today

simple-woman-daybook-small Outside my window the light is waning.
I am thinking that dessert would be nice right about now. But it’s probably good we don’t have any.
I am thankful for my quiet life.
From the kitchen comes no dessert. Maybe I’ll make a low fat chocolate pudding.
I am wearing what I’ve had on all afternoon while working in the yard. Black sweatpants, a lime green 3/4 length t-shirt and my dusky forest green Cabi jacket. I do believe in dressing nicely while doing lawn work. Not.
I am creating a children’s book starring George. It’s in its very early stages. My husband is encouraging me and I’m still trying to figure out the program.
I am going to go make that pudding now.
I am reading the Baltimore Sun. But not the depressing parts.
I am hoping that my husband and I can drive to the Gulf Coast over Easter Break to visit a dear friend who will be recuperating from major surgery. We don’t want to fly because we need to take George. Plus, I think a road trip might be fun.
I am hearing a commercial on TV. It’s the one where the 8 year-old boy does a slideshow of his pictures on his TV. “Here comes Mr. T”, he says. I laugh every time I hear him talk.
Around the house it is gleaming. I do like a clean house.
One of my favorite things is when my friends come out to visit. But today they couldn’t because of a family emergency. All is well for now, and I’m grateful for this.
A few plans for the rest of the week include getting new tires for the car.

Here is picture thought I am sharing

This is a small section of one of the wrought iron patio chairs. I have no idea what it’s about or why I did it. I just liked the heart.

Visit The Simple Woman’s Daybook where you will find many others sharing little bits of their day. I rarely link to the site but I enjoy ending the sentences above.

Have a wonderful week. Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

And I'm listening to Lex Land right now and I'm pretty sure that I discovered her here, so thank you, 'cause she really is lovely.

There is so much here--pudding, a children's book, a trip to the shore, and a clean house! And all of it is so rightly happening! George will need some sunscreen. I believe he likes a nice fruity scent.

I like the heart too... very much, in fact I would print it and frame it for my office.

Nice daybook entries. I like the color lime green for clothes and more. I was looking at lime green adirondack chairs while shopping today. Also, that's an interesting heart photo :)

A book about George...perfect!

Check out a few books on tape (or cd) from the library for your road trip. Makes the time go much faster.

Hope you got your pudding!

Kate,

great photo! i heart it!

i had to laugh at you mentioning "thinking" about dessert and then having to go in and make the chocolate pudding!!

before we lived in the country and the grocery or ice cream stores were nearby, i would trick my husband into going and getting ice cream ....just by mentioning, "mmmm ice cream would be nice"....i knew once i planted the seed...it would stay on his mind and eventually he would say "i'm going to the store to get some ice cream!"..... i did that for years, and he never caught on!!

if i so much as think about something sweet, i don't stop thinking about it until i have it!! sometimes, i have waited 3 days before i broke down and got it....but i never stopped thinking about it! sad, huh?

I enjoyed your day - pretty much an ordinary sort of day - the kind I enjoy most of all. Regards

A book about Goerge? Wow, I will be looking forward to this one. I grew up with a Welsh pony named Jiggs. I have written several little stories about him. An artist friend of mine is doing some illustrations. It has been so much fun. That will be the best part of writing about George for you! Just plain fun!

Three days of catching up on the Chronicles. I miss reading when life gets hectic - but then it is so great to get a 'long visit' with your page!

Ps, I love the fact George's and George Clooney's movie is coming out on April 1st.

One of my personal favorite annual holidays!
