Things I love right now

In no particular order, these are some of the things that float my boat right now.

This candle scent. There are very few Yankee candle scents that I actually like but one of them is Vanilla Lime. It’s soothing and gentle and I had to get one for myself after smelling it at a friends house this morning.

This facial moisturizer. Hope in a Jar just feels wonderful. It makes my skin feel soft and I love its subtle scent. Plus I like the name.

This curling gel. I have short, curly hair and have tried many products for curl enhancement, some of which have actually made me break out. But Redken’s Ringlet 07 is my current fave.

Mr. McQuesten. Please don’t visit that link. Unless you have fresh grapefruit juice.

These two guys.

All of you.

I don’t have a link for that last one. But all of you make this little blog of mine worth it. Your comments and e-mails have been so wonderful.

And finally, because I can’t post without the addition of a photo, here’s one I was fooling around with tonight.

DSC_0031 copy 2

I took it last summer, off the roof of my son’s apartment building in the financial district in NYC, looking towards the Hudson. It’s a little rooftop garden oasis. And if you look really closely, there is a naked gentleman walking through the room with the glass front.

Ok. I’m lying about the naked man. But it’s sorta fun to pretend.

Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

Kate, you have the most adorable "inner rascal"....make no mistake I was squinting like crazy!
I LOVE reading your posts! George is the border colley I never had...though I have rarely been without a dog all my life.
I promised you a a Saint Jude story a few comments back. Willow's post about St. Francis last Saturday gave me the courage to write it all down here. It's there now...looks long but reads pretty quickly.

Your blog makes me feel like I do when my kids are around, like I just got to speak to my mom again who has long passed on, like I'm sitting by a fire with a good book, wrapped in a fleecy blanket.

I love your blog. I just had to tell you. It makes me laugh and smile, and it touches my heart. Thank you for sharing.
By the way - I laughed at the naked man comment. First I looked, then I thought of all the others who will look! Nice one! LOL And I really like the picture!

I was totally looking for the naked man, too! ;) Not that I'm that kind of person....that picture actually reminds me a lot of a picture I took from my friend's sister's apartment's rooftop garden in the financial district of NYC, several years ago! We were looking at the devastation from 9-11 and something about your buildings looks very familiar, perhaps we were in the same area!? Weird!

What a lovely post for today, Kate. I, too, love Hope In A Jar. I've used this for several years now. Facial care is one thing I will not skimp on, even today.
Have you tried Amazing Grace cologne? OMG...it is light and fresh and never over powering. It's the only thing I can wear these days with my allergies/asthma!
Have a sunny Sunday!

Hey that was fun reading about Mr. McQuesten. I just may have to meet him one evening! Tell your husband, that Debra...currently on Survivor, is the principal of my grandson's middle school. I actually taught with her back in the early 90's! I think she is a brave lady!

You guys are awesome. I'm glad my blog makes someone feel like they're wrapped in a blanket surrounded by those they love. Awesome.

Thanks, all. And FireLight, I loved your St.Jude story. Beautiful.

Ok, you got me. I don't know if you knew it or not...but I am really gullable! As I was looking to see the naked man (don't ask me why - naked men aren't really anything to look at).. I realized who's blog I was on ... and then said to myself - "you idiot" there isn't going to be any naked anybody there". Thanks for another chuckle ... at myself this time!

Great photo anyway!!!

Well Kate I just spent a couple minutes squinting for the naked man who doesn't exist. LOL. I was even fixing to enlarge the picture. Shame on you for making me do that. JK.

Beautiful picture too.

Sherri makes the BEST candles ever. She's a small business, a mom, and super nice to boot...(oh yeah, and inexpensive)

I can just see you saying "neener neener" to all of us voyeurs trying to sneak a peek at that naked man :) Where is he again?

Ok...ok...I admit it, I was just like everyone else- looking for the naked man...geez- what's wrong with all of us, the simple mention of a naked man and we're enlarging and squinting..uff..
I'm totally into vanilla candles also and Antique auctions which I'm going too today!!!!!! :-))YAHOO!!
George looks great as always- the girls here asked if you'd sniff his butt for them..I said NO you wouldn't but they insisted I ask..
Have a super Sunday!!!!

That roof top garden says, 'hope'...and your blog too says, 'hope'....

J'oLLie, I checked her site and it's great. And, um, she even has a scent called Butt Naked. Wonder what that smells like?
Amy, tell your girls that you were correct.
KathyB, I hadn't thought of it like that but it's very nice to. We all need to have hope.

Hi, I just stumbled upon you, the pictures and obvious love for your dog pulled me in. I lost my old collie on tax day last year, miss him like crazy.

Oh you are SO bad ..

I went to the HS of Art & Design om 57th/Second .. we had this terrace (actually the roof of the connection to the intermediate school).. after lunch we were allowed out on the terrace in good weather .. we werent allowed out on the streets .. it was the 60s and it was midtown Manhattan... anyway we noticed there was a woman who would stand in her window across the way and look down on us ... she was naked. Yup. Weirdly once everyone knew she was there,no one really cared to stare back ... hey it was the 60s everyone was a hippy

Shame on you, Kate! I tried three times to enlarge the picture to see the naked man !!LOL Then I read the next sentence. You are so funny! I just went out and uncovered my six tomatoe plants. We were under freeze and frost warnings for last night. It is beautiful outside today. I hope you and hubby have a wonderful Sunday together. George too! Doris

I took your tip about the Vanilla Lime candle very seriously and went looking for one today. Found it at our local Home Hardware store! It is a lovely scent and I now have one on my coffee table.
