A resurrection of four January days

I’ve recently come to the realization that it has been over four years since I began writing this blog. I’m not going to say that I can’t believe four years has gone by so quickly because I don’t really think it has. It actually seems like I’ve been writing for much longer than that, and January 2008 almost seems like another lifetime.

So I’m going to do something a little bit different today.

I’ve decided to resurrect four posts from the past, all on a day in January as close as I could get it to today. I began writing this blog in December 2007 as a way of sharing my photography with my family and a few friends, who were the only ones reading it at the time.

Will you join me in a trip down memory lane? With the exception of the first post, they’re all fairly short ~

To those of you who have been with me from the start, all the way to those who have just recently begun to visit here – I want to thank you again for your encouragement, your kind, heartfelt, and often funny comments. I can’t respond to everyone, although I sometimes try. Please know that I appreciate you.

As much as I love the Amish, the beautiful morning, the eagle--I do so love your love for your husband! I'm so glad he has you.

Praying that he becomes enamored of grocery buying and cooking again sometime very soon, Kate.

The shot of your hubby melts my heart .... and the one with the moon takes my breath away!
What a great idea to do this! Maybe you'll start a trend :) I hope you don't mind if it "borrow" this idea for a future post :)

I remember meeting you though your photo of the Amish man and his son which you shared over at a photo site the name of which I cannot remember! I do remember asking you how you got the effect and telling you it reminded me of Witness ... do you remember the name of that group we belonged to?

Happy anniversary! Love the photos from the past. I just passed the 1 year mark (1/21) and, as you implied, time flys!

Something strange happened yesterday _ I wrote you two messages after reading your wonderful back posts and then....over the day and this morning I thought 'that's funny as Kate always replies'. finally I had a look and neither of my messages are there. SO sorry! I wrote them in the bit under the original posts and now I see that all the messages are old ones so perhaps they aren't accepting new comments now.
So, what did I say? Now it is hard to remember exactly but what I do recall is that I read your words about your husband and I cried a little. for me - that is not something that happens easily:) And I said that YES George loves a test because he is a collie and he always passes with flying colours. Great information about the bald eagle and i loved that you told us little facts.
Also I noticed that at the beginning you only had three comments and after only one year you had more than 40. When I managed to get over my jealousy about this :) (only joking) I realised that it is because you are so darned good! You deserve it all and all the love that comes to you through this blog.
Lovely idea and as always you go straight to the heart love Kate xx

You've been good for a very long time Kate. I can't get over what a natural you were even when you first started writing your blog. I need to go back from the beginning and read some of your earlier posts to see what I've been missing. I really enjoyed all of these. And oh that would have been so weird seeing Kelly with a cigarette dressed like that...that was a fun tidbit to learn! xo ~Lili

I can't remember when I started reading your blog but I do know that once I started I have never liked to miss any posts:) This has been a wonderful look back! Your photography has always been wonderful...and so has your husband's...Interesting that two of these posts have his photos:)

Seeing this is encouraging me to return to my blog as it is a great form of journaling...

It has been wonderful traveling the road with you a little bit!
