It's all very simple really. It was dusk and the light was waning. So for this shot, I set the ISO to about 1000, then set it to landscape on the automatic dial. Then I pointed. Then I shot. I fooled around with them in Photoshop too because I am addicted to that program. I used a vintage wash on them, then brightened the color. I just get a kick out of it. So that's it!
Your flora and fauna just amaze me. We have dried out grass, Canadian Thistle, and a few others with grasshoppers doing their thing (somehow I doubt getting their picture). I love to see the animals, insects, creatures, grass, trees, etc that you have over there. The world would be boring if it were all the same.
He looks like a little alien, doesn't he? And I love your previous photograph of the pathway through the green woods. Nothing better than walking Edward down one of those.
Very cool photos...........one of the first posts I did back in August was of a praying mantis that was on the side of my house......they are so fascinating to watch.

OK, what are you doing with your camera to elicit such perfect shots? Really! What?

*Really* cool mantis photos!
Oh, wow!!! Great shot. I love the eyes photo.
I would've expected more graininess at 1000 ISO. Was that something you adjusted on Photoshop, too?
A.
LOL ... too cute and nicely captured ... :)
OK - I definitely need to take a photo class from you! Just lovely, and the words so provocative, Kate.
Womaninawindow asked the question I wanted to ask, and of course you have answered it.
You are an amazing photographer. Both you and Hilary take the most gorgeous photographs I have ever seen!
boubou, I didn't notice too much noise when I opened the picture in Photoshop. And the vintage wash I used actually added some grain.
Thanks, all.

Beautiful as usual. For some reason they always look curious to me.
