Scent of a woman

I don't know about you, but I enjoy good perfume. For years, I have only owned two scents, but I have several samples of other perfumes that I have fun with. I find these samples on LuckyScent.com. Has anyone visited their site?

Now, mind you, the samples aren't free (unless you're ordering a perfume), but for two or three dollars a vial, you can get several to try on for size. They last quite a while, and it's fun.

My favorite scent of the perfumes that I've tried is Keiko Mecheri's Ume. I love the description:
Unexpectedly decadent, this intoxicating meditation on um̩, the Japanese plum, marries sweet and salt, fruit and spice, ethereal lightness and velvety richness. Japanese plum, persimmon and the delicate apricot-like osmanthus blossom provide a succulent sweetness that dances a breathless tango with deeply alluring Oriental moss, woods and spices. An unforgettable fragrance that would have suited Josephine Baker herself Рmarvelous and unique.

It almost sounds good enough to eat, doesn't it? And honestly, who doesn't want to dance a breathless tango? Now, that's just exciting!

At LuckyScent, you'll be invited to peruse reader reviews of the scents offered, and for convenience, fragrance samples are sorted into type: fresh, incense, and soft are some examples. I usually just go for the "Top Pics" under the cult following. It's where I found Catherine Memmi's Attitude: Like the honeyed sheen of polished wood or the easy grace of an impeccably tailored silk suit, this fragrance speaks of comfortable elegance. For the confident woman who knows she doesn’t need to raise her voice to get things done.

You know what? Sometimes the descriptions are just as delicious as the scents themselves.

Oh, and the two scents I own are Chanel Coco Mademoiselle and Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue. What are your favorites?

Me bad......I'm not much of a perfume aficionado (I so had to look THAT word up for correct speeling!). Currently I have a bottle of Bath&BodyWorks Rich Citrus for a quick spray now and then.

If only your blogpost was scented....Blogger should work on that!

I have to be really careful with perfumes and different scents because some will trigger a very nasty headache.
That reminds of a story when I was 8.5 months pregnant with my first child, I was shopping in the mall during the Christmas season. As I was taking the escalator downward, there was a bevy of perfume beauties with their little baskets of samples and their perfume bottle in the other hand. When I reached the bottom, the young woman approached me and asked if I would like a spritz of this perfume. I politely said, "No, not if you want me to throw up on you". I had to live in a scent free zone for the entire 9 months! Not even my husband could wear his usual cologne.
Today, I wear a very light scented perfume named Saving Grace from Philosophy. It's a shame, though because I love several other perfumes but they just don't like me.

I love perfume and wear it every day. Now I have a half dozen samples headed my way - thanks!

Those descriptions make me want to spray them all on at once. I actually am plain and simple. I wear White Musk by Coty. Cheap harlot, I know.

I used to love perfume until it started triggering hayfever - it seems to have improved but I still struggle walking past the beauty counters in department stores! That said, my favourites, despite sneezing, are Gio de Giorgio Armani, Jil Sander No 4 and L'Occitane's Vanilla - of course! ;-)

I like to change scents when I finish a bottle. Right now I'm wearing Tryst. Thanks for the link. I love to try new perfumes!

I also have two I alternate between. Used to try new scents, but too old for new tricks I guess.

My favorites are Quartz by Molyneux and, believe it or not, White Shoulders by Evyan. Been wearing it since high school and still love it.

Wasn't that spam on my blog just peachy? I HATE that!

Nina Ricci's L'Air du Temps is my own favourite, but shall look at the web site - might try a change. Thanks.

I haven't bought new perfume in a LONG time. I have Eternity from about 10 years ago and one other that my hubby bought me about 6 years ago.(I think it's DKNY I'd have to find it and see.) He loved the smell. I can't stand it, so it just sits on the shelf. I'm going to have to try that site and spice things up a bit. Thanks for the info.
*hugs*

Yes, Egghead, total Harlot you are.

I guess I didn't realize how many were allergic to perfume and apologize for that. White Shoulders is a classic scent that I smelled years ago and fell in love with. It doesn't smell good on me, however. Ditto for L'air du Temps!

Maybe one day they'll invent some way to "scratch and sniff" online! lol Those descriptions are scrumptious - but it seems not too many wear perfume anymore because of allergies (their own or due to others you're in contact with.) I remember a temporary principal we had one year and she wore WAY TOO MUCH! You could smell her coming and going and her scent remained in the elevator for way too long! I do love perfume but just seem to forget about it these days. Even at public events, we're warned to be sensitive to others - this is a scent-free zone!

Oh, I love pretty perfumes! Alas, I am allergic, if I get it on my skin. But if I put it on my hair, that works out pretty well. I'm not allergic to the scents, thank heavens. My hubby loves Imari, by Avon, so I put it on at night just before bed, just for him.
