Am I really a guy? Well, then why do I gravitate towards these gritty dramas rather than a sweet show on the Hallmark Channel? Or the Oxygen channel?
I don't know. I just know what I like. And these guys can rescue me any time they want.
The show is Rescue Me. It was created by Denis Leary, who also stars, as a tribute to the NYPD as they deal with Life After 911. The show airs on the FX channel, but the new season won't be out until March 2009. And that's when Michael J. Fox joins the cast. Should be good.
Until tomorrow, my friends . . .
UPDATE! Here's where I got the snow. Thanks to my blogger friend, Daryl!

I'll bet that one of the reasons you love Rescue Me is because Dennis Leary is HOT, HOT, HOT! He has that whole bad boy thing goin' on.
We love Rescue Me....especially Uncle Teddy....Glad to hear it will be back on soon...
I don't watch much television and am not current on the popular programs. Gasp! I haven't even heard of Rescue Me. Though Dennis Leary would be a reason for me to start watching.
I LOVE LOVE the falling snow on your blog. How did you do that? I already have cardinal envy - your blog header is beautiful. No doubt the lovely shot is yours. {sigh}
Rescue Me, hmmm, never watched that show but think I will give it a try . Thanks....the sweet stuff has really never been my cup of tea either.
oh wow, just when I thought there was nothing to watch. I'll have to see this.
Remember the last few shows of LAST season? The young fireman who got drunk? That was our late friend Fred's son Dylan Chalfy who was supposed to get a recurring role in this new season but things didnt work out as planned due to the Writers Strike.
Anyway .. Leary is a really good guy and the show is great ..

Tag you are it! Instructions are posted on my blog. Hope you will play along!
My husband's uncle was a Newark fire captain, and Dan would visit him often in the fire house. He says the characters are spot on -- a perfect depiction of Irish Catholic firemen...
It's a great show. Lifetime? Oxygen? Ick.

Dennis Leary is divine. It's snowing in here!
Dennis Leary is hot! I may watch this one....
Looks like a fun show and, yes, I am sure there are lots and lots and lots of women would be very happy to let these guys, uh, rescue them! Heh!!
But that's why we watch TV and movies, right? For entertainment, fantasy and just to escape to another world for a few minutes. I am looking forward to a very, very, very (!) silly movie coming out with Jim Carey called Yes Man.
Now THAT looks like a silly movie but you know what? I just like the idea of escaping into that silly world he creates on the movie screen for 90 minutes or so. The critics will say it is a so-so movie but I will like it because it will be just fun and silly.
So, enjoy your shows (sounds like Elaine and others sure like this show! heh!!) and find that balance in your life between the fun and the serious.
Sometimes we get overwhelmed by the seriousness in life but it is nice to take time to be a bit silly once in a while and just have some fun!
Take care and I always like your posts - they are so, so good!!
And, yes, my thoughts are with you at this time. And you know what? I even say a prayer for you and your family every so often - though I confess I have to introduce myself to the Big Guy each time as I have been a bit of a stranger for many years.....
Take care.
It's snowing on your blog!!! how cool
Thanks for the snow link. I try to get it from another blog, but her link wasn't working.
We don't have cable any more so I can't watch rescue me but I like the movie Backdraft. But then my brother is a firefighter and my hubby used to be for a volunteer dept. I also used to be a dispatcher, so I have a soft spot for Emergency responders.
*hugs*
Debra, how could you EVER envy one of my photographs? Yours are superb! But thank you anyway.
By now, I hope you know how I got the snow on my blog, but I'll post about it again.
Thanks, all! Good to see you around, Russell!

And here I am in my frills watching True Blood. Girls...
I catch it now and again when the farmer is watching it. I always wonder why I don't make a point of watching it all the time since he does. But then again, I am usually doing something else. Yeah, Dennis is hot.
