After reading the comments left on yesterday’s post, I am humbled. And surprised. You really are the most wonderful group of readers and I want to thank you for buoying my spirits with your witty, insightful, kind, funny, and heartfelt comments.
Tonight I’m taking it easy. While my husband watches the Singing Survivor Show, I’m continuing with Eat, Pray, Love which I watch on a big screen that sits on the end table next to my loveseat in the living room. It’s hooked up to my laptop and it’s just like watching a little flat screen TV.
Today was beautiful. There are no other words for it. And the icing on the cake was a visit with our youngest son, who drove over from NJ, and brought a friend to dinner. I asked if he wanted to go out somewhere nearby to eat, and he told me he just wanted to be here, to have his friend see how peaceful and quiet and beautiful it was.
And it was better than Famous Amos cookies.
The box of cookies remains taped shut. You’re proud of me, aren’t you?
Until tomorrow, then . . .
Male and female house finches, taken on a beautiful afternoon in Maryland.
Florabella’s ‘heiress’ action, ‘vintage bokeh II’ and ‘cream canvas’ textures, as well as Kim Klassen’s ‘framed’ texture.

I'd have to give that box of cookies away or throw it away...love Famous Amos! Their vanilla cream sandwich cookies rock too!
God knew just what you needed to get you out of your funk...a timely visit from your son who only wanted to sit a spell with his mom, dad and friend...and George too! Ahhhhhhhhhhh
So glad you had a nice visit with your son and his friend:) Is there any better gift than a son or daughter that enjoys their own parent's company?! Have a wonderful evening:)
Keep it in mind," cookies are our friends". Haha
Really. a good cookie now and then is a true blessing.
Love the picture today. I have got to find more of these actions. Seems I use more textures then actions...Oh, well.
Have a great weekend.
Don't you love when they want to come home.. just to BE home. :-)
Home is where the heart is! Good job on cookie shut down. Thank goodness I don't like choc-o-chip cookies, really don't like chocolate much.
Much better than cookies for sure ... and I am loving this photo, how fun is it .. in my mind its captioned: which way did they go?
What a thoughtful son you and your husband raised!!!

Sweet little finches.
It's such a warm, wonderful feeling when our children want to come home and are proud to bring their friends with them. Says a lot about his upbringing.
Love those finches! Beautiful processing. We have been having a lot of them lately.
You have a sweet son!
"look over there" "where?" - the finches have it covered.
Hello Miss Kate!! :-) Sorry to say I hadn't read your post yesterday so when you wrote what you wrote today I had to go check it out....I have another thing to admit, I didn't know what the word Malaise meant...so I had to look it up. I like it that you keep me on my toes and my brain challenged! The photos yesterday of the cardnials is so gorgeous, wish we had cardnials here, their color really is striking against the nature around them!
You are a very good girl for leaving those cookies alone, I am not so sure I would have been that strong! I baked yesterday- shouldn't have but was strong and only ate ONE! Where as the old me would have gladly had two....or three....ugh....Been to the gym today and burned it off I hope!!! Now I'm going to clean house and make stir fry, I lead an exciting life also- you don't have the exclusive on that my friend!!! Hope you have a wonderful Friday! Give George a belly rub from the gang here in Norway :-)
i'm behind so i hope whatever was resolved and distant now. yay for a wonderful evening with love.
