It’s such a perfect day

Well, not really. But it’s nice to pretend once in a while, isn’t it?

Today we ditched the plans on stocking up in Amish country so I spent the day cleaning. I did the entire kitchen & breakfast nook floor, washing it thoroughly and then waxing it. I love a clean floor and my universe is almost aligned now. I also cleaned the kitchen.

Then this afternoon I took out my macro lens and just walked around the house taking a few pictures of things that caught my eye. I like the colors. Above is a zippered bag that I received as a gift from a friend. I have it filled with tea bags.

This is a beautiful dish that was also given to me. It’s a new acquisition and today I’m using it to serve crackers and cheese with a Malbec from California.

This is my favorite tea light ever. I bought this years ago in one of the only decorator shops on Ocracoke Island. It caught my eye as soon as I walked in. Around it I have my red glass berries circa 2000 from Pottery Barn.

An old pillow from Ethan Allen that serves as an accent on George’s couch. How I ever came to have a couch that’s primary resident was a dog is beyond me.

Have you seen this commercial that has been airing during the Olympics? It features 2006 silver medalist Gretchen Bleiler who's just advanced to the snowboarding finals at this year's Games. I am totally enthralled with this ad and every time it comes on, I stop what I’m doing and watch. I just found it today on YouTube after looking for it a couple of times during the past week. And I just realized that I truly do use the word ‘just’ way too much. See [yesterday’s wordle post] for explanation.

Hope your day is a good one, my friends. Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me.

Lovely rich colors. I would bet that your home is a warm, and friendly place.

I can see why the commercial catches your attention, but it kind of ruins it at the end when it's AT&T. I don't know what I was thinking, but it certainly wasn't that company!

Love all the colorful things around your house!! :-)

and then we could take george out and play in the snow....

Mesmerizing commercial!

Hey - I have the same tea light holder, except in red and I have the same beads on wire in blue!!!

Nothing like a clean floor.... and clean kitchen....

Oh, I must get a macro lens... micro?...

Okay... neat. My brother asked me to post the Olympics music by Lou Reed. I had no clue what he was talking about even though I know this song by Lou Reed on the ad very well. Thanks for 'splaining to me what he meant. LOL

Color and complexity - everything you featured has those and they're all beautiful.

Every time you feature something like this, it makes me want to throw everything I own overboard and start over by buying only things I love instead of things that are on sale or whatever.

wv: suppsa. Suppsa you, but I think you made a wise decision not going to Amish Country today.

Your photos are always great. I need to learn my camera and look into additional lens.

That is a great commercial. We do some of AT&T's advertising (not that commercial, wish we did). Anyway, I can't say anything bad about them! Pretty pictures and I like George's pillow!

Oh I love the plate and the needle pillow- heck I love them all!! So lovely. Ugh, today we will clean house- it's needed after yesterdays de-furring of Birdy..but first..one more cup of coffee!! hahahaha..(procastination..what? Me?)
The commercial was cool too, never seen it before- I think it's just amazing people can stand on a board and do those kinds of tricks on such slippery surfaces- she wouldn't have needed to go to outer space for my sake...I was impressed from the start!!

It is a cool commercial but as I'm afraid of heights, it's just a little creepy to me, too. :)

Love all your macro shots. What a beautiful dish! But then you knew I'd say that didn't you?

Yay for you on the cleaning... things are beginning to look a little dusty around here... :(

Rnjoy the rest of the weekend!

I love a clean home too. My building is under renovation right now and everything is covered with a thin layer of dust. I'm looking forward to getting it all back in order...soon...I hope.

I hadn't seen that commercial. There are some that are only being played in certain markets. It's a good one.

Here's the one they're playing here on Canadian soil that always gets my heart pumping and puts a big smile on my face.

You are surrounded by beauty!

I love the votive and the beads.

A stunning commercial! Possibilites, that is a dream I need to reenstate in my thoughts.

George has his own couch, I just can't believe that, kidding, my dog rules the roost and if he wanted a crown I would probably purchase one.

I love it when you use the macro lens. This video is awesome. I have to admit I haven't had time to watch much of the olympics or any television much lately. I had never seen it.

A very gray day here, so I'm baking cookies... the perfect day for it! I love your tealight holder; everytime I visit the Outer Banks, I make it a point to hit some of the galleries and antique shops. Such great finds there. Although it's been far too long since I've been there. Need to plan a trip...

I'm glad to know someone else has a piece of upholstered human furniture for their dog. I once had an overstuffed chair that my dalmatian claimed as his shortly after we bought it, and so it was until he died. That boy sure loved his chair. :)

I love your photographs, but most of all I love reading about the processes and tools you use for photography. I love photography, but I just have a digital camera, and I take snapshots and the occasional video. I think anyone who has the proper equipment and the training in photography is so fortunate. And of course, it helps to have a good eye. ;-)

Now that is some scrummy macro eye candy, CG, thoroughly enjoyed the little tour around those treasures.

So George has an ETHAN ALLEN "accent" pillow??? wow. Life HAS gone to the dogs at your house. Mine, too, I guess folks could say. Isla has FOUR beds. yes, that's right - four - two downstairs, two up. And we have a small house. I just want her to be comfy wherever I am, who can blame me :>}] Still, I'm not about to tell her George has an EA pillow because then I'd have to bring up the couch and well, you know where that would lead.

I spent the weekend cleaning the kitchen too...haven't felt like doing that in a long time so I'm thinking it must be spring fever!

Love, love that commercial...the song "Perfect Day" has been a favorite of mine for ever and I'm glad it was used in such a well done commercial....
