I’ve got the fever

Perhaps I have a little bit of cabin fever and I don’t mind admitting it to you. We’re all friends here, right? I’ve never been snowed in for this long and if it weren’t for the reprieve on Tuesday when we had the driveway open for an entire day, I might be a little cuckoo for cocoa puffs by now.

I had planned to visit the Big City this weekend with some blogging friends I met in Virginia last year. But with the weather and the trains cancelled, the Virginia guests won’t be able to make it which made all of us a bit down. This is something we’ve planning for months. So I was going to go myself and visit with my friend, Daryl and have dinner with my son.

But we’re still snowbound here and there’s no getting out. I woke early this morning to find these photos in the camera disk. Someone had their favorite pal posing for sunrise photos.

Yesterday morning my husband also took several sunrise photos. And when I got up and saw that I’d filled the camera disk already, I deleted all the pictures. Including his.

And I felt very bad about it.

He told me he could care less because he could always take some more.

And I felt so much better then.

My husband said they were all bad photos, but I beg to differ.

I like all of them. Even if it does look like George is posing.

And I’m going to miss it here when I go.

Because I really am going to go.

I need to for my sanity. I think.

I’m all packed. I just have to get my bags down to the main road. I have a rental car coming to collect me at 1 PM and will be on my way to NYC for the weekend. This way I can leave the car here for my husband and George if they need it.

I invited my husband to come along. But he said, “Are you crazy? Me in New York?”

So if you don’t hear from me in a few days, that’s where I’ll be. I love it here, you know that. But sometimes a girl’s just got to get away.

Respectfully submitted,

Have a lovely time in N Y. I am sure that, like here, the main roads will be clear of snow. Enjoy. George and husband will still be there when you get back - and pleased to see you after the break.

Oh, those pics of George.
Be still my heart! I love him.
I would have married a lot sooner had all men looked like that!

But, my guy is close, and what an animal lover he is,too! When I am mad at him, I just imagine he has whiskers and furry ears, and then all is right with the world!!

I've never been to NYC. I'd like to see it, just to, you know...see it. I think I'd much rather stay at your house instead. That's more my speed.

Have fun!

Enjoy your getaway.

Every time I see your house, I fall in love with it all over again. Does it have a history other than yours?

When you are snowed in just think of yourself as a latter day daughter of the pioneers. Bet they were snowed in a lot in their day.
And now. Just get your things together and make your way down to the road. Where there's a will there's a way.
Have a great time Kate.
