Winners announced in Giveaway, among other matters

Congratulations to the winners of the ‘cleaning out my closet’ giveaway. The winners were chosen using the integer generator over at random.org. First up was #6 – Troutay and won the mug. Then I hit a doldrum where every number I chose afterwards wanted the mug. Until I got to #51 – Wildbanshee, who won the slippers. And finally, after another interval where I lost count how many times I hit ‘again’, #38 – Emily won the cosmetic samples. Congratulations to all.

You won’t see the proof because for some reason when I do a screen capture and paste it into a new document in Photoshop, it no longer allows me to save it as a jpeg. Must try to get to the bottom of that one, but until then please rest assured that those were the numbers chosen by random.org. Cross my heart.

If you think you’ll scream if you see another wintertime photo, please run away now. Don’t scroll further down. And please also don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I’m just one of those people who gets a kick out of snow. Not too much snow, mind you. But enough to make me feel like we’re having a good winter. Where I reside in Maryland is not known for its accumulation of the white stuff, so when it does happen, well it’s exciting for me.

And for my husband, too. He’s been enjoying the opportunity to cross country ski all around the property with the black & white.

We had a two-hour delay this morning, so I didn’t have to get to up in the dark. I managed to get outside and get some photos of the early morning light, but what I’m posting today are photos I found on the camera disk when I came home.

I asked my husband to get some pictures of the branches of the trees with the snow on them because this is the first time it’s really stuck like this.

I know that it can get you crazy when you have to look at it all the time and the cold can get on your nerves. I also know how depressing it can become. This is when it’s good to begin creating something colorful. Paint something. Knit something. Photograph something colorful. Anything! Anything to get your mind settled and content.

But right now I’m still loving the snow.

If you ask me a week from now, I’ll probably have gone mad by then. This weekend, we’re supposed to get hit with possibly 20 inches. Must get supplies in soon . . .

Until tomorrow, my friends ~~~

I, too, was out taking photos of snow today. And then I caught myself - I mean it's SNOW, after all - all the snow pictures over the years kinda look the same. But, it was especially pretty this morning. So I snapped away. Must download & post.

These are wonderful, Kate! I always think the snow looks prettier when someone else is experiencing it. :)

But I think we are supposed to get a pile this weekend, too.

Heh CG, I am LUVIN the snow pix (because they are over at YOUR place, not mine) and wanted to tell you that they look excellent on my monitor - sooo much detail in the white and also LOTS of depth, like looking through layers of white... Dunno if you're having to work these much in P'hop, but if you are, you're doing a heck of an awesome job.

just say'in :>]}
p.s. so George r-u-n-s while the mister skiis? gads, Isla would love to do that!!!! She adores snow.

Congrats to the winners although I did hope to win the slippers. lol

The weather here is so mild that they're shipping snow in from the interior for the Olympics while the rest of us watch our tulips come up. There're snowdrops and crocuses in bloom now!

I never tire of seeing the snow pics...I do tire of shoveling and trudging around in it, but never the beauty of freshly fallen snow!

We really haven't had much at all yet this year. I'm probably jinxing it now. I'm just as glad not to have to shovel it. Your photos, as always are beautiful. Love that George!

George is the perfect centerpiece for your neutral winter colors. Great pics! Tell hubby, "Well done." LOVE the shot of the tall trees with their snow deco.

We have plenty of snow here. I welcome the time to tackle indoor projects with no yardwork guilt.

I say the same thing, but I'm realistic living in Norway- another month or two of snow and then I want it gone..I'd like spring, green, buds a bloomin..the whole kitten-kaboodle...but in this day and age with global warming you never know what to expect with the weather...

Your snow is beautiful. We haven't had any snow this year so I'm enjoying the snow of others!

Funny story... the phone rang the other day and TOG picked up the cordless, looked at the caller id and asked "who do you know in Maryland?"

OMG, I got so excited!

"Hello? Hello?"

It was a survey about how happy I was with the service on my car.

Not Kate. Not Kate at all!

What a letdown!

Make sure to get those supplies in before the storm!

Somehow you're getting ahead of me. It's Thursday here but you already have a Friday post :)

I love the snow photos and would love to have dry snow instead of wet rain! Snow here would be wet though ;)

Congrats on getting the post of the week!

I'm so jealous of all your snow and the lovely scenery around your home!
Also your dog is gorgeous - seeing him makes me feel a bit sad as we used to have a Border Collie (did you know they originate from Wales? Just like me!) called Dillon with a half black and half white face. He also had two brown eyes just like yours as opposed to the one brown one blue which they often have (so I was told) when they have the two colours on their faces. He died almost 10 years ago but was my 'special' dog and a photo of him we had framed read "Dillon - the best dog in the world". Apart from yours of course!
