What not to wear (when you’re a dog)

The photos below may surprise you, but in the interest of authenticity over here at the Casa de George, I’m posting what happens when something stinky this way comes. (And they’re really not THAT bad).

While I’m thinking about it, here’s another Casa de George you may find interesting.

When I came home yesterday, I immediately noticed a slightly odd odor. And it was emanating from the black & white. (The link is for Rich).

My husband had hosed him off just before I’d come home, but there was still a lingering scent. And then today . . .

. . . somebody rolled in the same foulness.

And somebody got a bath. This is what somebody looks like when he’s been freshly bathed.

Scary, isn’t it? Before applying the shampoo, my husband took this photo.

Like a movie star caught on camera at their very worst, George is wearing the wet look and not looking very happy about it.

“I am very sorry for rolling in the monkey turds. Please forgive me.”

“And please don’t get soap in my eyes.”

After he runs around the yard for a bit, he begins to dry off.

Heya there, pup. That’s much better. You can come out now.

Ah. A return to handsomeness.

Speaking of handsome, I came across this beautiful border collie today. And he has his own blog. I am not planning on George having his own blog, so don’t get any ideas! Although it’s sort of fun to consider, it would be a lot of work and I have more than enough to do as it is. Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

Well, I checked out the border collie's blog....and Turbo is very handsome indeed, but I'm sorry, he just isn't as handsome as George.
No way, no how.

I think George will be in whatever magazine it is that is featuring stars without makeup. They all look better with just a bath and no makeup and so does George..Handsome fellow..

I thought of George yesterday when I discovered Turbo... Twins perhaps? Such personality they both seem to have.

Awww... George is such a pretty boy. For a second, I thought you were going to say that he was sprayed by a skunk. Now that would STINK.

This blog doesn't belong to George? I thought it did and he let you write a story once in a while:) He is so handsome clean or 'foul'.

I hate when Buddy rolls in that stuff. Ugh. Seriously, what are they thinking?

He is a cute boy wet or dry.

hmmmm, he didn't smell bad from here.

oh

wait

it's a long way to Pennsylvania, perhaps it dispersed a bit before arriving.....just kidding. With 6 dogs, I often get "stinky" one. Especially after going to the gamelands. Who *knows* what they find there!

Well what do you expect when you keep monkeys at your house! :)

Monkeys? you have monkeys?
Why haven't I heard this before?

Poor George.
I bring my dogs up to the lake. After swimming for hours, they smell pretty good.

Heh! Bailey, my dog, loves to roll around in the most unusual things!

One of the more unusual items (besides the usual horse related things he finds in the pasture) was, of all things, a dead snake. Bailey had to roll and roll all over that silly thing.

It seemed important to him. However, he gets a bath if I can see or smell anything!

Take care.

Does George love the water- just hate the bath part?? All my dogs love the water. Isabella loves it best if she can choose how far in she wants to go (in the lake) but a hose would just be loads of fun....they'd chase the stream and be entertained for hours and very sleepy afterwards!!

What is it about dogs & poop? I guess it's an olfactory delight that will forever remain a mystery to me.

“And please don’t get soap in my eyes.”

That added comment truly made me laugh out loud!

I thought you were going to say a skunk got him. That's not pleasant either!

Ha.. I know that look well.. and the smell. In spawning seasons, Benny finds dead trout or salmon (depending on the season) to roll in. And they're not just dead.. they're decomposing. He ends up with green, stinky slime... and one thorough shower. Great pics. Give that George a hug for me, please. :)

George I'm sorry but we are laughing...Dear boy you do the crime you have to serve the time. Our dear departed Dachshund, Toto, was the world's worst for finding the worst odor on the planet.
Thankfully he was a mini doxie and easy to bath. Too short to jump out of the tub.
