Like sand through the hourglass

I seem to have a case of writer’s block lately. I know this because some evenings find me sitting here with my fingers at the keys and all my photos up and waiting and I am at a total loss for words. I type, then erase, then type again and before you know it, a half hour or more has gone by.

I hope you’ll bear with me.

I found these photos on the camera disk today. My husband had managed to capture a wren moving into the bird house we have along the fence.

Here he sits atop the birdhouse with a long piece of dried grass.

Moving to the edge of the roof, he tips over.

And somehow gets in there.

There you go.

And then he’s back for more.

I want to thank you all for coming by, and I’m so glad that you make this a regular stop. I have a lot planned for the weekend, and may not get it all done. It’s been forecast to go up to nearly 90 degrees on Sunday, which is way too warm for me but it could be worse.

On another note, I need you to know that my idea of cleaning a part of my house for 30 minutes on a daily basis has failed miserably. I’m not surprised about the outcome of my ill-fated attempt at avoiding cleaning on Saturdays but at the same time, I have no plans on beating myself up about it. I yam what I yam.

Hope your weekend is a good one.

I’ll leave you now with another of my husband’s photos. This time it’s of a male red-bellied woodpecker.

Until later, my friends . . .

I'm off to watch my favorite new show, "Who Do You Think You Are". Has anyone seen this show? Love it.

Just wanted to say hi! Love the woodpecker..have never seen one of those around here. Had a downy woodpecker on the feeder yesterday but he was too quick for me. 90 degree is too hot for me too and it's much too early for that don'tcha think?
Enjoy the weekend :)

Just found your blog...know I will spend hours browsing older posts!

Love the photo of the woodpecker. We enjoyed watching several at our feeders of the winter.

Don't worry. I failed at cleaning 5 mins a day..
Beautiful photos.

Have to tell you that I had almost the exact same idea about cleaning. And failed miserably. I thought that if I would just clean one room every day, then I'd always have a clean house. Can I say that right at this moment my house has never been dirtier? Ugh!

How lovely to be a wren...all you need is a little straw, no decisions about fabric or window treatments...and no need to clean the house.
::sigh::

{as always, the pictures are beautiful}

I just bought my grandson a bird book with the sounds each bird makes....he loves it.
I know what you mean...some days, I am just totally incapable of writing anything that means anything.
The harder I try, the worse it gets.

I know what you mean about writers block. I totally know about the struggle with keeping the house clean, tho I am convinced your house is beautifully kept..I am wondering if you have visited flylady.com
She has a wonderful program going that breaks our homes up into zones, and I have had some success with her. I just have too many things I would rather do. lol
You & your hubby are very talented photographers.
One thing here...I was so struck by your love for your dog, I decided to get one, too. Jack was with us for just a couple of months when a car hit and killed him...so I will leave the precious puppies for someone else to love. Thanks for listening...I was starting to really love my little buddy Jack.
blessings,
glenda

I just caught a pic of my red bellied woodpecker today! Still can't get the cardinals to stay still long enough, and those little stinkers seem to always stay on the other side of the feeder! Did catch some pretty cool pics of the blue heron that lighted on my patio this morning...I did send the dog out to chase him after I got my pics and before he snacked! Have a safe trip this weekend. Hope your brother is well!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I failed miserably to clean this week, so I'm just going to put it off till next week... ;)

It's funny how the words "sands in the hour glass" and I can hear the music even though I never watch that show!
These pictures are awesome..so see it as it is happening, so much going on in the world around us, I wonder how much we miss?
I think I would hire a little local gal that you might know, to come clean the house once a week...and just enjoy your time at home!
Come say hi :D

Running a blog since 2007...I think a little writer's block is understandable. I've only been working on ours for a little over a month, and I'm about to hit the wall myself. But your photographs speak volumes, they are so gorgeous. Persevere! :-) ~ Lisa ~

These are the days of our lives .. do not mess with a soap opera junky........

Tell A these are fabulous and show a lot of patience on his part to chronicle it ..

New love seat on the way .. ToonMan got a $100 fine for putting the old couch out yesterday which according to the law was when he was supposed to put it out so he's planning on going to court and fighting it . he said he will tell the judge he's old and needed help and ...... The man is an actor so I suspect he will convince the judge to toss the ticket.

Sometimes words are not needed. Your photos speak for themselves and we can just gaze at the beauty that you and your hubby are so brilliant at capturing.
But not too often!!! :)
Cleaning is one of those things that has to be done, no one, in their right mind, likes to do it, but hey....it'll still be there if you don't do it right now. It's too hot anyway. Go read a book instead...we won't tell!!

I'm still procrastinating spring cleaning a little bit of my kitchen every day..have been thinking about it for over a month and have gotten maybe two cabinets done:)

Loving the photo story your husband captured...You two make a great team....

Air conditioning and iced tea, thank you very much!

We all get writer's block every once in awhile. That's what so great about photo journaling. A picture is worth a thousand words!!!

I hate writers block, and it seems like I'm going through it constantly lately. Maybe it's Spring weather telling us we should be doing something else besides sitting at the computer ; )

Aren't birds like little miracle makers? They really are!

Watch out, girlie, that hubby of yours is getting better and better with the camera! He could be as good as you - and soon! :)

Hopefully I can get a word in edgewise here among your large crowd of adoring fans. I had a serious case of blogger-blockage myself, until today. I finally kicked myself in the butt and off of Facebook (talk about time consuming!) and sat down to write a bird story you may like. Take care, my far-way friend. Carry on, and I'll do the same.

I love wrens, I love that he comes and makes the nest, or sometimes several, and then tries to get the girl. And their singing is so loud and funny for such a little bird. Great shots!

Love the bird photo's...makes me wish I lived in the country.
No worries about the cleaning I used beat myself up about it...I have come to realize it will always be there...no cleaning fairies in my house!!!

Oh, we all go through the blogging desert at times, so you are not alone my friend. As far as the house cleaning goes... well... you know how I feel about that. It gets done when it gets done. No guilt. :c)

You are so cute!! I love your posts and I love what you've said about the house-work! lol

On to bigger and better things...like..blogging!!
