Unbridled joy

For anyone interested, Pioneer Woman is holding another photo assignment at her group Flickr pool. The theme this time is “Happiness” and even though there are probably a bajillion and one entries, this is mine for today.

It says happy to me.

You can submit any photo you choose that signifies happiness. It’s very subjective, and the photos that people are submitting are such fun to peruse.

I took this photo on an early spring day in 2008 when George was just 7 months old, and running across the lawn to see me with this expression of unbridled joy.

If you’re interested in submitting, visit Pioneer Woman’s Photography site. And please check out her Group 1 choices here. They’ll will leave you grinning from ear to ear.

Speaking of photography, you simply must visit this site: My Two Red Shoes. I came across this blog just this afternoon, finding it under the BlogHer ad on the right of my page. If you look under the ad that’s currently running on my page, you’ll see a small listing of blog posts that have been highlighted for the day and hers was one of them on Monday.

I need another blog to read as much as I need a hole in the head, but I found myself adding My Two Red Shoes to my blogroll within a short amount of time. Her voice just makes me smile.

Once I got there, I couldn’t stop reading her site and ogling her fantastic photography. Her pictures are simple and beautiful, and her posts are short and funny. She also has excellent Photoshop tutorials, which I’m going to put to use. (And I noticed that she had a photo chosen for the Group 1 submissions tonight on PW).

Lee needs to win the Singing Survivor Show. I love you Crystal, but Lee hit it hard tonight and my heart belongs to him. Hallelujah.

Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

I'm so with you on Lee. Do you remember Jason Castro singing that song last year? I loved it then but Lee did a better job.
I'm checking out the sites you mentioned now..

Thanks Kate for introducing us to My Two Red Shoes...it is already on my blog roll too...I love her photography, her writing, her tutorials, her new baby, but most of all her dog!...Her dog is the spitting image of my adopted mixed breed and seems to have the same temperment to boot!...

I would be happy if Crystal or Lee won Singing Survivor...but Hallelujah is my favorite song in the world and Lee did Leonard Cohen justice with his version...

As for the Singing Survivor Show, I'm ashamed to say that I have never seen it... :)

Good luck in the PW contest, her reader's photos are just beyond amazing...but I agreed when someone wrote she should have a contest where it isn't allowed to fix the photos...you can tell MANY are fixed...
Never get tired of seeing photos of George though and I can definitely see a smile on that furry face!!
Will try and get over to the blog you've recommended when I get another free moment..just wanted to stop in and say hi!!

Our dog smiles, too. They just do - it's a fact!

I didn't watch Idol but agree, Lee's pretty awesome. I liked how last week, Harry Connick Jr said his wife thinks Lee is like a younger, cuter version of him! Jill's right - I see the resemblance.

Thank you so much for your kind words, it means so much to me (explanation here). Really. And your George is awfully cute, too!

I agree Kate. I was a late-Lee-fan. I really loved Crystal and Casey more, until recently, when Lee started winning me over. After last night, I am pulling for him ex-clu-sive-ly. That was one heckuva performace. I teared up-like I always do, when I can tell he is fighting doing the same.

I have to admit too though, that I recently got the inside scoop on Lee, from someone from his hometown. His background, & his personal story. Learning some of those details, really kicked my heart into him. I want him to win, to keep his life on this track, heading this direction. Although I hope if he got booted early, by some fluke (remember Chris Daughtry that night?), he has gained enough confidence to keep this positive momentum going.

I can see why that photo of George, brings you happiness. That tongue always cracks me up too.
