Impromptu Giveaway (don’t get too excited now)

While cleaning my house this past weekend, I was again reminded that some things just have to go. There are items in my house that I really don’t need and I am perfectly willing to pay $3 or $4 for shipping to three of my readers who may want something they see here.

Take, for example, this lovely pair of Daniel Green bedroom slippers (size 9) that I bought last year from Garnet Hill on sale for only $9.99. They were an absolute steal but they were so not me. They are much more fitting for someone with a more demure sense of style.

They have never been worn and they are looking for a good home.

Next on the list is a rather rustic-looking coffee mug. I bought it for my husband several years ago, quite forgetting that he doesn’t like mugs that are dark inside. So I used it instead as a vessel to hold miscellaneous items like scissors and screwdrivers. And now I’ve grown tired of it, and it must go. It’s very clean inside, so no worries.

Finally, there are the beauty samples. Over the past year, I’ve accumulated this entire stash of samples that I just don’t think one person can use. So I’m getting rid of it all. Included in this selection are samples from DHC Skin Care, Lancome, Laura Mercier, Smashbox, Chanel and Kiehl’s among others. Away with it all, I say.

Now here’s how this giveaway will work:

As I said, I’m willing to pay three or four dollars for shipping. So that leaves many of you who don’t live in the states quite out of it. If you can provide a shipping address within the US, I’ll be glad to send it to that address. So, for those of you who are eligible (e.g. you live in the US), please read the following:

THE RULES

1. You must be a follower of this blog. This is not an attempt to glean followers. If you want to sign up to follow today, that’s fine. But this giveaway is for my followers only.

2. Leave a comment telling me the ONE ITEM you want. (Bedroom Slippers, Mug, or Beauty Samples).

3. Make sure I can get in touch with you by leaving me your e-mail address along with the comment.

HOW TO WIN

Wednesday evening (Feb. 3), I will choose one number at random.org and that person will win the item they desire. That item will then be out of the running.

Then I will choose a second number at random.org and eventually a third until I find someone who wants the other two items.

Good luck! And thanks for helping me rid myself of some of the clutter in my life. And apologies to those of you who live afar. I really am sorry and hope you’ll forgive me.

I have been racking my brain trying to think of what to give my Secret Sister for a Valentine's gift and those slippers would be perfect! Our annual winter retreat is coming up at the end of February and the theme is Revive, Refresh, Renew....those slippers would be wonderful for her put in her overnite bag and bring with.
Here's hoping....

I live in Canada so I do not qualify although I would love those slippers and I wear a size nine. But I do understand and I do forgive you because I too feel the same way. I do not mind paying a couple of dollars to ship an item but when it starts to get around nine and ten dollars it is just not worth it. Our Canadian postage is terriblly expensive and it just does not pay to mail things out of country. I am sure your other out of country followers will also understand and good luck to all you Americans.

Oh, Kate...
I love the slippers, and they're my size. I would not describe myself as "demure", but a girl can dream, right?
Thanks for offering them in your drawing.

As much as I love the slippers they aren't my size and I can think of NO one to give them too. My sister just gave me samples of all kinds of makeup items.

So count me in for the mug. Can never have to many of those and it would always remind me of your blog and you.

Too much Fun ...
Those shoes look so cute but I don't need them.
I too, just cleaned out my extra bathroom drawer. It had all sort of mini samples. I didn't even think of doing the give away with them. I did .. sort of ... gave them to my recycle bin after making my laundry room smell lovely.

When I had my first son (around 30 years ago!) my mother gave me a pair of Daniel Green slippers. They weren't as pretty as yours, but I was impressed. I never really wore them though....thick socks continue to be more my style. How sweet of you to give things away, I'm learning all sorts of new ideas out here in the blog world! Take care

The mug is my pick even though my feet would fit the slippers -smile-. I've been in such a giveaway mood as well; is it the nesting instinct, I wonder?

I would give the mug a very good home. We splurged last fall and purchased a Keurig coffee machine and I was not aware that I could have such an affinity for a small appliance!

My email is in my URL. Thanks and keep up the great blog and photos.
