Let’s take a walk, shall we? I’m sort of at a loss for words here after seeing all the new faces and reading all of your encouraging comments.
But before we go, I want to say that reading your comments often surprises me. Your words make me laugh out loud at times, and have me me blushing with embarrassment at others. It’s always been difficult for me to handle compliments and eventually I learned to simply say thank you.
So thank you.
Did I say that I was a loss for words? Well then now, let’s get back to that walk.
I dislike exercising, but I do enjoy walking. And when I come to a beautiful sight such as this above I am just glad that I got off my ass and came outside.
Sorry I said ass.
Sometimes I try to get out of taking the daily walk. I can be pretty lazy at times. And today at school was Picture Day, which is always crazed in a controlled sort of way. So I felt extra deserving of just taking it easy once I got home.
Did I really say that I was at a loss for words?
I do hope you like my squiggly grapevine twigs. They caught my eye as I strolled by.
Where else can you go for this kind of excitement, I ask you?
I didn’t bring the hiking poles for today’s walk because I was holding the camera. So instead of hoofing it around the property, I just sort of strolled. It was so beautiful today and I was in a strolling frame of mind.
There’s the manor house on top of the hill.
I love it when the grass is still good and green, the trees are full of color, and there’s a crispness to the air. Walking is so much more pleasurable when it’s like this.
George waits up for me sometimes when I’m lollygagging. I think he’s wanting me to get moving.
Besides, Antiques Road Show is on. There’s just something about this program that I really like. And things were so well-made back then!
Glad you all stopped by.
Until tomorrow, then?

Your photos are so vivid the crispness of the air can be felt just by looking if that makes any sense, and it probably doesn't because it's MOnday night and Mondays are a pain in the ass. (Sorry. You said it first so I felt comfortable doing so. I'll wash my mouth out with wine now. I mean soap.)
The shots of the grape vines are beautiful -absolutely gorgeous.
(((lovely))) as always.
i have a love for squiggles and curls - i just do. so, a beautiful walk with beautiful shots. we should walk together often.
That was a lovely walk -- thanks! I feel better already. :)
Such beautiful pictures. I love the property and the color of the trees. And, of course...George peeking at you.
George is too much, what a wonderful pet. You can just see the hurry up Mom look in is face. He's so cute. What a beautiful walk and it was nice to see some trees getting some color. I may be in Maryland but here I haven't seen a colored leaf yet. Keep taking their picture so I have some color for this cooler weather. Jeanne
Wonderful..just wonderful Kate...thank you so much for your terrific photography. Loved the mums yesterday too!
I also enjoy the antique road show..assuming it is the same one that you get there...is yours from Britain (UK)..?
ps My "vignette" I promised you is the first photo of the series in My World today...nothing as beautiful as yours though!
I love how you take me on these little journeys...so lovely to escape my reality for a bit.
That first photo is stunning!
As always your photo's are the best. George is a wonderful pet and I love his face.
And you are welcome. I love seeing your photo's ,I am still learning.
Thanks for the walk Kate..I'd walk with you anywhere if the views are as gorgeous as that...and I love that George came with us..made me feel at home..;-))
Oh hi Kate, this looks just like my home town....sigh. It seems you took a stroll along one of my favorite places. Giving me the idea to make that stroll next weekend and if the weather is with me I'll be sending out some pics too. Hugs Dagmar And ps thanks for your thanks.
Beautiful! Looks like you are getting some Fall colors...and I LOVE that last shot with George! What a sweetie!
Love it, wish I could take a walk with you... love the fall colors! Thanks for the virtual walk!
Thank you! Beautiful as always.
aaaaah...lovely :)
GAH ... you said ass! snicker. I need more coffee and a walk, I wish you were here
It's fun to walk with you, Kate and I would have had to capture the squiggly twiggly's too....oh, and my heart lept right out of my chest when I saw the sweet anticipation on George's face, waiting for you. He has an admirer here in VT, you know that.
I have been wanting to get off my *** too, get out and take some photos...get a few things accomplished before the snow falls on my head and washes over the outdoors. Let's see if I will :)
I don't hear many people say lollygag anymore!
Love your photos as always!
Kate, you deserve every compliment you get. Thank you for letting us walk along with you. I love to walk and do so almost every day, always on the lookout for a good photo opportunity.
Such a beautiful place you have. Communing with nature surely comes easy for you. (sigh)
what a great place, wonderful pictures and as usual George is so cute.

Hi Kate! Thanks for the wonderful walk around your property, I feel like I was there with you.
I like your last photo .. with George and the old bird house.
I like to walk too.
First of all I love it that you used the word "lollygag." I don't know why. I just love it.
Secondly, what a beautiful place to walk. Wow!
Now I have to get off my ass and go out for a walk. ;)
Only wish that I was up there enjoying the change of the season with you. Down here in Texas, our seasons are: almost summer, early summer, summer, and late summer! Today the heat index is going to be in the triple digits. Maybe I can convince my hubby to move a little north (above I-20) one of these days! For now, I'll just have to enjoy the seasons through your words and pictures! Hugs to George! Jeanne
Would you rather we didn't compliment you? That would be impossible, because you make us laugh, sigh and think about things we might not think about. George is just too cute and your photos are lovely. So, just accept the fact we think you are great and take us on another walk soon.
Marilyn in VA.
I love all the color at this time of the year and the light... Well it is so nice for taking pictures! Thanks for sharing!
I enjoyed that short autumnal walk looking at the trees and chatting to you and throwing a ball for George. We must do it again sometime.
Such a beautiful and peaceful walk! (I like these kind of walks when I get my ass moving too! ha,ha - I said ass too!)
:-) Shelley
You certainly aren't at a loss for words, and I can't believe you said 'ass'. LOL!
It is a beautiful Fall, isn't it?
Beautiful pics!
Thanks for taking us on a walk with you :)
Hugs
Terri
Kate: Who keeps up that beautiful property? The grounds are so perfect. Kay
Kay,
A lawn service comes once every two weeks on Wednesday. There are four guys with two mowers and 2 weedeaters. They're here for a couple of hours and they don't do a great job. They always come first thing when the grass is still wet. Still, it looks fine. I guess you can't see the fence falling down and being held up with twine in these pictures. So that's good.

Beautiful location.
I wish I was present.
Early morning grass walks without sleepers is excellent. I used to enjoy years ago.
Lovely photographs! I'm very envious of your talent!
