Checking in

Hello. It’s me.

I hope you had a good weekend.

Mine was fine, although I have done something to my knee and am having trouble with it. I don’t know what I did, only that it hurts, and so much so that I broke down today and took a pain pill rather than just Advil.

Pain pills make me ill sometimes. Today was one of those times, and so I went back to bed.

Before I did though, I sat outside with my knee up, and my camera in hand. At one point, I saw a great blue heron high up above me and I managed to grab this single shot of him. I’m just glad that it came out clear. I don’t see to many herons here on the hill, although my husband says that he sees them flying by all the time.

Watching Birdsong on Masterpiece Theater. It’s a good one.

Hope your week is a good one too, my friends . . .

i hate that your knee is still bothering you.....but if you hadn't been outside with your knee up, you would have missed that spectacular heron.

WAIT.....i take that back. birds are always there. i really wish your knee was pain-free and that you were pain pill free and that you hadn't been outside taking care of yourself.

Oh sweetie, sorry to hear about your knee. Hope some tender kindness makes it better. And that shot of the heron ... hell, better than any I'm capturing with so many around me down here in Florida!

Great shots find YOU!
YOU are ready & able.
[even when dis-abled]

do feel better. I thank my knees,
and they seem to mysteriously stop paining me in time.....then I remember to thank them on my daily walk BEFORE they ask for it :-)

So sorry to hear about your knee. I hope it and you feel better soon. The photo is beautiful. I remember the first and really only shot of a blue heron I got. He was sitting still in a bunch of mangroves. Almost perfectly hidden that I almost walked right by. ~Cindy

Great shot. We have blue herons here (at the cabin), in fact they have a natural rookery, or what's left of it after the horrible ice storm a few years ago.

There are some pain pills, hydrocodone that I can't take at all, with food or without, makes me terribly ill. I just tell the doc that I'm allergic. Makes me absolutely lose all control of my muscles and body and sick! Good luck with the knee. Mine is swelled all the time.

I like the way the heron is calling out "get well soon, my friend!"

I love Blue Herons. They're one of my spirit animals. I've never been able to capture a really beautiful image of one. This is amazing. Hope your knee feels better soon!

You are incredibly quick with that camera! Fabulous shot on short notice!

Sorry your knee is acting up...have you had it looked at? If you don't remember an injury it could be a sign of Lyme disease...just to make you nervous:) Hope all is better and do take those pills with food! Ice packs are good too...

Hope ice or heat helps that knee, along with the pain pill. Can't you take the Advil for inflammation along with the pain pill? Don't see what it would hurt, and I think both together would be a good thing, and maybe an ace bandage. (No, I'm not a nurse!) I hope to get some shots of some hummingbirds--they say they're heading our way, and a friend has an eagle's nest on her property--so I really want to get some of an eagle. We'll see though.I don't get outside as much as you.

Have you tried Ultram? They seem to work better (or differently) than a lot of the prescription pain meds that make so many people wretched. Yes, it's a prescription too, but just not as many vile side effects. Hope you're feeling better ~ and nice shot!

So so sorry about the knee pain. Hope tomorrow it's better! And a wonderful photo! My in-flight bird shots are always blurred. Guess I need to up my shutter speed. Hmmmm, tried watching Birdsong but just could not get into it. It's probably me...I'm so tired lately, I probably fell asleep early in the show. Again, hope the days ahead are pain free!

Hi Kate, I hope your knee feels better, I had to have knee surgery a couple of years ago for a torn meniscus, not fun, lets hope it is not that. I wanted to let you know that I finally found a beautiful frame for your wonderful print, it looks lovely in my eating area...thank you again, I love it...m
