Today it was extremely foggy and it never burned off which was fine with me. I was stuck inside school anyway but on the drive home, I stopped at the cow ponds at the edge of town where I live. The cow pond is a reservoir and is indicated as ‘cow ponds’ on historic maps of the area. It was lovely in the late afternoon fog.
Canada geese are on the water in the distance.
I used Kim Klassen’s brand new ‘Marabella’ texture (a free download) while editing these photos which were all taken with my cell phone.
If you join KK’s Texture Lovin’ List located on the right sidebar of her Café blog, you’ll get free weekly downloads direct to your e-mail inbox. Extremely generous of her.
Today I had to take two Advil before I left for work because when I woke, every single muscle in my body was sore – or so it seemed. Yesterday, I spent the morning cleaning and the afternoon decorating. This involved bringing all the Christmas tubs from the garage and up into the house, then unpacking and returning them to the garage. It was a huge job but I was motivated and am now enjoying some of the fruits of my labor.
I’m not entirely done, but I made a major start.
You can see the headlights from the cars along the road – the route I take daily to and from the school where I work in the next town over.
A young girl and her mother were feeding the geese.
So I tried to keep out of their way.

Thanks to everyone who answered my Friday Five questions in the previous post. They’re always such fun to read. And I love your honesty.
You were being honest, right?
Until tomorrow, then ~

The top three photos are very mystical looking. The one with the headlights makes you want to be in a warm place, safe and sound. Maybe what the people in the cars are thinking.

Lovely photos . Yup always honest it's the best policy and some times to blunt and straight forward to lol ! Have a good week my friend !
What a beautiful place to see every day.
can't think of a reason to lie to this down-home group! I love your blog and your honesty and the readers it attracts :) (honestly!)
Oh yes, always honest; it's too much work to lie! If I don't want to be honest, I just don't comment. :-)
Oh, yes. I was honest. The one that I would have been tempted to not be honest about was the one regarding punctuality.:-) I should add that I was ALWAYS early for my job before I retired from teaching.
How wonderful that you tackled that decorating! I am making progress bit by bit, day by day.:-)
I really enjoy your photography, Kate.
Gorgeous !!!
I think it's the time of year when it fogs up. Did it here too. I'm at the beach place for a while.
I love your foggy photos- something mysterious about fog rising on the water.
I love the dreamy mood in those images!
I LOVE foggy photos ..... mysterious yet calming too :)
Hooray for Christmas decorations - sadly I have not put one thing up yet and seriously considering not decorating at all this year ..... Not quite in that Christmas spirit yet.
I'm still giggling over the name "cow's pond".
something about it struck me funny this morning.....
Don't you love that you can take decent pictures on your cell???
I must admit to being lazy now about dragging my camera around.
Sigh... I just love foggy, misty photos...
It rained all day here yesterday, but nothing so pretty.
Hope your muscles have recovered by now... this Christmas stuff is hard work. :)
i wasn't i lied ... ha ha ... noooooo
if I tell the truth, then I have to remember no lies.....
I love the pictures
those geese are huge
I love that last one of the geese and the out of focus background - beautiful. Sorry I haven't been keeping up with you so much of late. Horrible stuff going on and feeling very down. Your pictures have cheered me up this evening. Thank you.
Wait. I don't think I answered them! Did you get the Red Velvet Cake tea?? :)
We had the same fog.. eerie and yet lovely.
Well, why answer if not honestly, right? :-)
Beautiful shots.
Sorry about being sore but glad you got some of the work behind you. Believe me, I know what an arduous task it is. (My bins are still sitting in my kitchen next to the basement door. I am dreading taking them back down.)
If only I could do as well with my Rebel XS! :)
I don't have Photoshop, so I can't download the cool stuff...I'm stuck back in the ...um, dinosaur ages.
Love the pictures. Fog is cool if you don't have to drive in it. We get a lot of fog in the fall and the spring.
These are really beautiful photographs, Kate.
I especially love the first one.
These are absolutely gorgeous photos! The fog itself is a wonderful texture. Stunning!
Guess I will be late answering your questions:)
Most of these photos have Monet written all over them I swear. So lovely Kate. xoxo
