Photo memory lane

I’ve filled this post with photos that I found on my Flickr stream. I haven’t been on Flickr lately, and many of these are from 2009 or 2010. I haven’t picked up my camera in over a week, and for many of you who visit this blog, you’ve seen these before but they just happen to be pictures I like.

This is a view from the top of Champlain Mountain and was the last real hike I took. My husband and I hiked the Beachcroft Trail at Acadia National Park in Maine in June of 2010. The views at the top were incredible. My knees have since told me that they weren’t having any more of these shenanigans, though. But I’ll always remember that “I did it!”

Wrote about it here: Hiking the Beachcroft Trail

And last but not least, an image I took in the summer of 1986. My husband with our eldest son on the left, and our best friend, Warren, with his eldest child on the right. I love this photo and everyone in it.

Hope you liked. Crazy weather here today with a wicked storm that blew through this morning, turning the day into night with its violence. Am off to the kitchen to make dinner. Tonight it’s broiled salmon, sauteed onions, peppers & zucchini, and rice. Hope your evening is a good one.

Love all your photos but the last one, that's the heart one.

You always list something delic for dinner. Me, I look around and think, do I really have to go to the store or can I make something out of nothing. I'm not a cook. Never will be.

Enjoy your weekend,
JC

I love seeing your photos - like someone showing me their album and picking out some special memories to share. Thank you for doing it. What great photos you were taking even then - the 80's seem like yesterday but when you add up the years oh my goodness it was quite a while ago. A lovely moment to capture on film.
The watermelons are here in the market - I'll try your recipe.
Storms in Cornwall UK as well but hot sunshine here.....funny old weather.....funny old year. In Spain they always sign off with the spanish for'kisses' oh hell, I'm going to do it here in English Kisses Kate

Thanks for sharing. You caught that horse perfectly. That last one makes me smile, too and I don't even know anyone in it. It makes me want to sing "I'll get by with a little help from my friends": the Joe cocker version. Wasn't that what was used for "Wonder Years"?

What time is dinner? That sounds yummy!!

I love vintage photos from that decade. The colors are always nicely muted. It's such a nice photo too! Look how incredibly young and handsome your husband was... but then weren't we all back in 1986. xox

I can see why you like these, they're all good and I do seem to recall that lovely photo of the Briget Bardot pony. It's nice to revisit these favourites again.

Love to you, CG ...
and I loved wandering down your Memory Lane while remembering many of these images along the way.

The last photo is dear beyond words. There is so much to bear in this life it's a wonder that we all aren't broken in two.

Such good pictures, all 1986 seems so long ago...a year after our first child graduated!

You know I love that last one; so much youthful joy there!

I truly enjoyed your photographs Kate and that rose is perfection.

Treasure your memories. That is the good thing about photographs - little moments held from the past.

Loved the one of Sam and Maria. Liked how you captured the flow of the water from Maria's hand. The Mane on the pony is gorgeous. Wow, look but don't touch.
Love Family pics, they tell such a story without it being told verbally.

Beautiful photos, as always! You never disappoint. We just had a wild monsoon-type rainstorm thing blow through here; there was blue sky to the left even as the rain was pelting down. Weird. ;)

Have a lovely weekend!

Aw, I love seeing all your favorite photos! That rose is gorgeous! It is fun to go back and choose some of your favorites.

It's been a weird rainy day here. Downpours one minute and blue skies the next... I don't know if our rain gauge is accurate, but we've recorded over 12 inches this month!

Hope your weekend is wonderful!

All my life I have been mocked for putting salt on my watermelon. (also on bananas) I feel completely vindicated now. watermelon+feta+olives. So there, world. (just sayin')
