Good Morning

Happy Independence Day to all that live in the States and a Good Morning to everyone else. I have off today and to celebrate, I made blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Yum. Served ‘em with pure maple syrup. Then I put on a load of wash and swept the kitchen floor after I did the dishes.

My life is so interesting, isn’t it?

Today’s weather is a mix of sun and shade, threatening rain clouds, and a general air of mugginess. We’ve had more rain than I ever remember seeing in early summer but whatever it is, we pretty much have to live with it, don’t we?

Whether the weather be fine,images

Or whether the weather be not,

Whether the weather be cold,

Or whether the weather be hot,

We'll weather the weather

Whatever the weather

Whether we like it or not.

DSC_1129 copy 2Today is quiet here at the Casa de George. He played frisbee this morning with me and I may take him for a little ride this afternoon. We have no plans other than to enjoy the quiet. I’ll make something good for dinner, and am planning on making {this} for dessert. So tell me ~ what are your plans for the Fourth? Are you swimming, or sizzling, or grilling, or under an umbrella? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Until tomorrow then . . .

The blueberry pancakes look delicious. We are getting a few light showers here in the Finger Lakes. Going to grill some turkey burgers, topping them with pineapple slices. Enjoy your 4th of July :)

Well, there will be no outdoor activity for us today. We are having rain, rain, and more rain! There may be some clearing later in the afternoon. If so, we may watch a nearby neighborhood's fireworks display from our backyard.

Your pancakes look scrumptious! We are just now harvesting our first ripening blueberries, so I may give blueberry pancakes a whirl.

Enjoy your Fourth of July!

Hubby and I have been working all week on our house. He is currently painting my downstairs bathroom a fabulous shade of green called Fairway Mist. I have been de-cluttering and am happy to say that I have a boatload of STUFF ready for our upcoming yard sale It has rained all week here otherwise I would have been sad that I couldn't get out for any pics.

Love Love Love your bluebird and I wish I had been at your house for breakfast!

Let's see; we need to unload a flatbed trailer load of hay, pick raspberries, finish the chicken yard, spin some yarn (it's Tour de Fleece, you know), and I'd like to ride my horse. My MIL is coming this afternoon and we'll make a festive, picnic-style supper and go watch the municipal fireworks. Whew!

Happy 4th of July to you and all US bloggers and followers out there. It's quite a boring day here in the UK I'm afraid, other than Wimbledon. I wish I could have breakfast at your place....those pancakes looked fabulous!

Of course, people over here in the UK don't celebrate the 4th July but I do wish you all the very best of luck.

We are just staying at home and relaxing. BBQ'ing a Tri-Tip and having a greek salad to go with it. I made raspberry pancakes for breakfast for us, must be a pancake kinda day. I'm going to do some sewing and then probably read a book in the evening. I haven't looked at the desert you are making cuz I'm sure I'm gonna want some of it. Oy Vey!! Happy and Restful 4th sweet lady!!

We don't really celebrate the 4th big. Hubby is off of work so its nice to have him around for a four day weekend. We had breakfast at Denny's then went grocery shopping. Maybe hotdogs and corn on the cob later. I've already been poking around in my craft room and we figured out together how to print some pictures from Walmart online and have them shipped to the house....surprisingly affordable.... anyway just stuff...kinda boring huh? LOL! Not very interesting but its life. And life is good. Love the weather quote! I think i've heard that before but not for a long, long time....Hugs! deb

Dan and I are actually by ourselves today... lovely, lazy day -- a walk in the afternoon and chicken on the grill. Happy 4th, Kate! xoxo

My son picked me up in his new car, and we went "over the river and through the woods to grandmother's house" for dinner....loads of laughter later, he drove me home, so that he could go out of the rest of the evening with his friends. I feel very blessed. Many blessings being sent your way.....smiles.

I am playing with new pruners and trying to catch up on yard work around here...and enjoying it.

I am thankful for the sweat washing the impurities from my system, for the liquids I replenish with and the ability to unfold my body after clipping for hours.

Relax and enjoy your evening.

We normally have a family party here, but we've had so much stuff to do in the past few weeks that I wanted to just relax, and so we did. I made an ice box cake that we grazed on all day and we kept cool indoors when we weren't outside helping the gardens and animals keep cool. The kids were with their friends at parties and viewing fireworks... it was a nice quiet day. Safe too, Amen.

The 4th is my birthday. Spent the day with family and a few friends. The day started out hot, but an afternoon thunderstorm blew in and cooled things down a bit. It rained and hailed on us! Grilled for dinner and enjoyed homemade ice cream and apple pie that my 84 year old mother made for me...they are my favs! Enjoyed a quiet evening and a beautiful sunset!

Wow, you had me there for a second.....I thought, OMG, she thinks that was a placemat.....
but I'm glad you like, and you can use them any old way you want.
The blueberry pancakes are to die for.......I am hungering for them NOW.

We were very lucky to have the boat to escape to on a very hazy, hot, and humid 4th! I even went swimming in the ocean and you know what? it wasn't cold!

We enjoyed it so much we did the same thing today and will probably do the same thing tomorrow:) 0
Stay cool!

I'm a bit late but what the heck.
I've been at our beach place.
The 4th was spent buying fireworks at the local Indian reservation stands. My boys let them off over our bulkhead.
I watched them from my upstairs window.
My cats and dogs were with me.
I didn't make anything, bought it all from our local Top Foods.
I had a nice weekend.
And, I love your saying. The one where the blue bird is flying.

Pet George from me and Maddy Jean and Jodie Belle and don't forget to pet that cute cat of yours too

Gosh, those pancakes look so good, it doesn't take much imagination to taste them. The term "mouth-watering" is a real thing, not just words! Haven't had blueberry pancakes in at least 10 years! Gotta remedy that!
Hope the sofa's there or will be soon! :)

We didn't do much. Bummed around and grilled out.

I've really been wanting pancakes, now may have to make them for supper.
