Neither here nor there

This is completely random, but due to the lack of anything interesting going on, I’m just going to ramble on. I do hope you don’t mind.

I am sitting under a throw and have not one, but two sweaters on. And a scarf. And I’m happy.

George has a small bump on his nose and we don’t know what it is yet. My husband noticed it today and is hoping it’s just a small bruise. He says the dog was playing pretty rough yesterday with the stick.

I got my hair cut and colored last night. I wish it could always stay this silky and soft.

I took this photo of a geranium bloom the other day.

And the sunshine coming through the lace curtains in the dining room.

Same feather, but taken last year.

I collect feathers.

My husband saw me sitting outside over the weekend, so he helped me by enticing the birds with a little extra sunflower seed sprinkled around.

And they began arriving right away.

Thank you for the movie suggestions in the post a couple down from here. I’m planning on watching some of the ones you mentioned. Over the weekend, I watched A Bronx Tale and loved it. I cannot believe I’ve never seen it before in all these years. Classic. I have Secondhand Lions in my queue, another really good movie that I’ve seen before. And I believe I’ll rewatch Buck tonight. It’s a documentary about Buck Brannaman who was the inspiration for the movie, The Horse Whisperer. My husband worked with horses all of his adult life, and got along better with them than he did most people and I swear, he was a bit of a horse whisperer himself.

I’d also like to recommend Ondine on Netflix stream. It’s different but I think you might enjoy. Check it out for the synopsis and see if it’s something that could be up your alley ~

Have a great week, all.

It sounds like you are very warm and cozy!

One of our daughters is a bit of a "horse whisperer" herself. Actually she seems to have a way with other animals, too.

It sounds as though you have some good plans for movie watching. They are ones that are new to me. We would like to go see "Lincoln," but just don't get up and go.:-)

Stay warm!

I saw that movie within the last year and it was fantastic! What a way he had with the horses...loved it!
Love your photos and hope all is well with you and your dear husband.

transfixed by the lace, feather light.... what a nice gentleman to call the birds. I think feathers collect (around) You! And of course we all bless George. . . .

I hope George's bump is nothing but a small bruise that will heal quickly. Misty Belle ran head long into one of our lawn chairs in the dark recently while chasing after Quinn who was chasing whatever at a high rate of speed. She cut her nose and dented in the chair...but she is much better and we are happy it wasn't anything worse.

I love the photo of the feather with the lace curtains, and our pink geranium is still blooming so we put it into the garage to avoid the freezing temps. That movie I mentioned was good, I think you'll like it! :)

Lovely photos. It was nice of your husband to encourage the birds for you. Being a horsey gal, I loved Buck. We've had glorious weather lately and today the next cold front moved in. So I turned up the heat in the house and stayed inside more than I have been. Of course, cold for us is not the same as cold for you.

Dang it's freezing out isn't it??? Hate this! Hope the bump goes away...that's no fun. Hope the rest of your week is swell. Ha...that's such a funny word to use...but it seems fitting. xo

Wonderful photos ! I hope the bump on Georges nose is nothing but a little bruise from the stick ! It is very cold here and has been quiet as well. I have just been reading books comfy in my blanket , reading blogs and staying cozy with my Miggs beside me and popping out all bundled up to feed my birdies in the mornings ! I wish I could get my hair soft again but going through the change of life well that maybe a bit difficult now lol ! Stay cozy and have a good evening !

Foyles War. I can't remember if you've talked about it before. Instant streaming on Netflix, I think. God Bless, keep warm. p.s. I collect feathers too.

NIce of Andrew to encourage your birdies. No one but me around here does that! Just filled the feeders today. They have been going through the food like crazy. I bet I had 3 dozen birds at the feeders before the temps dropped. And isn't it cold! Even the squirrels haven't come out!

Hi Kate!

I so very much love that images of the lace curtain and shadows. It is very poetic and very beautiful. As is the one of the singe feather.

I shall have to read the responses to your movie question. D and I hardly ever have time for a movie and when the rare time comes that we do, we are lost for ideas so end up digging into the Monty Python episodes. :)

I just might have to go out and buy some lace curtains after seeing your beautiful lacy shadows! Simply stunning!

The birds are certainly eating a lot of bird seed these freezing cold days! Just heard it is supposed to be less than zero tonight....brrr!

Thanks for the movie suggestions...I am watching a lot of oldies right now too....The Other Bolyen Girl was pretty good.

Stay warm!

Thanks for rambling :)
Loved Second Hand Lions and could watch many times over. All the actors are well suited for their roles and the chemistry is great and the story is sweet with just enough action to keep it interesting. (I add that for the benefit of anyone who has not seen :-) )
I'll check out a Bronx Tale....
Not too cold down here but I won't rub it in
How thoughtful of your hubby to spread some extra seed for you.... It's the little things!
Have a great night...

Ramblings are the best.

Have you tried Giovanni shampoo & conditioner? I also have curly hair and it only felt silky when the stylist used a ton of product. I started using Giovanni Moisture shampoo, conditioner & leave in. Now I can finger comb my hair without tangles. :)

I have to close my door and shuck out of clothes every morning. Doing my feeding and morning chores, I put on long underwear and an extra tank top. By the time I get here, it's HOT.

It is horribly cold, and now we have wind. So glad today was a day off, and I could just stay inside.

Glad you found some good movies. Love The horse Whisperer. Love this little bird too. What a cutie!
