Hold tight

It’s been a heck of a week here at the old manor house on the hill. It began with my laptop freezing up and I was without it for nearly a week. Immediately following that, the electric went out for two days due to a tree that fell on the privately-owned line that runs to the Delmarva line. Then the plumbing went in the kitchen, followed by other assorted minor maladies. I guess I should have never said that I’m not crying uncle yet (written in my last post). Ha!

All is well now, however, but I am busy working on a book tour post with a deadline of tonight. I signed on as a tour stop a couple of months ago and then sort of forgot about it. And I haven’t yet finished reading the book . . .

Today is a perfect day to read, however. It’s cold and gray, just like the photo of the dark-eyed junco above.

So take care, keep warm, and I’ll be back later this week.

Your friend,

Troubles come in threes. Hopefully your three are out of the way for this year. Wish I had daffodils to come up in the yard as I did at our previous home... I think I am just about ready to see some color. xox Glad all is well now, Kate...

Oh man, I guess it's true what they say "When it rains it pours". Thankfully everything returned to normal. Good luck on your tour, and that image you posted today is fantastic.

Take care!

Can't wait for Spring! I think a lot of folks have been feeling the way that bird looks - hunkered down, trying to stay warm and tired of this unusually cold and bitter winter. Hope this coming week is much better for you and good luck with your book tour!

My goodness, Kate, you've had your "share" for the next many weeks. Things do seem to happen in bunches though. Hope the upcoming week is a better (much!) one for you.

Glad to hear that you have come through a hard week pretty much unscathed. Keep it up.

Whew, glad that week is over for you! Hope it's smooth sailing from here on out! It's been exceptionally cold down here in southeast Texas. I like the cold weather but not when it's grey and dreary and just plain old yucky which is what we've been mostly having. What exactly is a book tour? I am assuming that it's not a tour group coming to the Manor House!!! Happy week!

Oh that stinks that you had a yucky week. Hopefully this week will be better! Hope the book is enjoyable. :-)

Oh, Kate! It looks like we are in the same boat. Since the New Year began, we have had our hot water heater, washer and dyer, garage door opener and snow blower all die. And now the top rack of my dishwasher has broken. I think I'm cursed!

XO,
Jane

Glad to hear you are well. I was so worried when I followed the weather for your area and learned of the ice storms.
Stay well and warm. I'll keep an eye out for you next post. Give George a pat for me.

If things really do come in threes then you have had your share for sure. Hope the rest of the week is good and I hope the book is good too:)

Someone once told me that when the Juncos finally disappear, it means winter has finally released it's icy grip. I guess that is still a way off.
