I love

That you make me coffee every single day.

How much you enjoy the outdoors.

And how fit you seem to stay.

I love . . .
. . . that you will never see this on my blog. Because you never, ever, EVER read my blog.

Which is probably good, because you would freak out,
(because other people read it).

* gasp *

And they see your photo.
DSC_0064 copy 2
And they know that you like to listen to poetry and beautiful stories during dinner.

By candlelight.

And that after dinner, you do the dishes.

I love . . .

That you will never see this post.

: : :

But your father will.

And he will show your mother. And together, I think they will know how I feel.

Because I love their son.

And their son is doing fine right now.

: : :

Love you, Godfrey and Anna.

I hope I haven’t said too much.

The beauty of that post made my heart hurt. My husband is 55 and in the late stages of a rare form of dementia. My love for him rivals yours. He is not able to reciprocate. It's ok. We have lived the most amazing life. Thank you for reminding me of that.

You are lucky that he doesn't read your blog, because that allows you to really reach down and write this lovely post.

This makes me want to take back every remark I ever made about him being upset that you may--or may not--have stepped on his watermelon.

The things that you have listed are priceless.

He needs to start reading your blog.

Kate~ Even though your husband doesn't read your posts, and especially this one, I'm sure he knows how truly blessed and loved he is to have YOU in his life. You two are very fortunate to have each other. The love and compassion in this post leaves no doubt. If your husband were a blogger, I know that he would express the same of you. God bless you both.

So cool to read something as wonderful as this. In today's weird world it's nice to know there is still "happily ever after."

such a beautiful tribute Kate. Love is such a great passion of life. Yesterday I forgot to take my meds and I didn't realize it until 10:00pm last night. This morning I had such a headache, that I couldn't even get out of bed. There was my eternal sweet heart at my bedside giving me my pills and made sure I had something to eat before taking our daughter to Orchestra practice. He then came back and made sure I was alright. Your husband and I are lucky to have people whose love knows no boundaries!!

He's gotta already know how much -- how very much you love him! And it's good to know that there are other folks out there who still stay together, stay in love, and don't mind sharing it with us. It makes me feel warm, and I want to tell my husband ""I love you, Honey!" right now--and I am going to!

What a nicely written post! That's a very nice picture, too!
