Snow-covered in Delaware

I got up early this morning to head about an hour south for a scheduled service appointment for my Honda Element at the dealer. My husband and I checked the weather last night and then again this morning, and he told me that there were going to be “snow showers” but I should be fine.

Well, I made it here.

Not sure what going home will be like and I nearly turned around a couple of times. The further south I drove, the worse the driving became and in some areas, I couldn’t even see the road. Not good!

But here I am, safe and warm, at my favorite Honda service center. We have one much closer to our home, but I’ve been there twice and don’t trust them. We bought the Element at this place, and they’ve always been up front with me and have never steered me wrong.

And besides, they have a beautiful new waiting room. I used to have to walk over to the Acura building rather than sit in the dingy little waiting room here. Over at Acura, there were leather couches. And Starbucks coffee. And lotsa room.

But last year, the Honda dealer updated its look.

I’m not going to worry about the drive home.

Well, not yet anyway.

So how’s your day going?

There is nothing better than having a trusted auto repair shop. Mine happens to be a neighbor who owns a shop in the neighboring city. Worth the drive. Have a safe trip back home! We are getting dumped on this morning as well!

When we moved to Roanoke 3 years ago we found a great auto service shop just up the road and have been taking both our Camry and the Pathfinder there. They have not let us down yet.

Snow seems to have stopped here around 10pm last night. The sky looks as though there is more on the way though.

Drive safe going home, and if it looks too bad just stay put where you are. Better safe than sorry!

Oh my gosh, that's a lot of snow. Be very, very careful on your drive back. I'm with Di above, if it's too bad just stay put.

Safe driving.

Wow. That's a lot of snow... Be safe in your return! Go Honda! We are big Honda fans. Have bought 5 new Hondas - all from the same dealership - over the past 25 yrs. :) And we drive an hour to get to our dealer too - just not in that much snow!!!

Ah, there no greater experience than the dealership service center waiting room!! I am so glad they are finally getting the message and cleaning those places up! However, the Kia dealer I have to use hasn't figured it out yet! :) I didn't even realize we were supposed to get more snow today, I don't think we are supposed to get as much up north here as you are getting. Be safe and go slow coming home.

At least driving home you shouldn't have to worry about anything going wrong with your car, which will be "all tuned up!" Have a safe return to that cozy home of yours!!

Yikes! That looks like a potential 'white-knuckle' type of drive home. But nothing a well maintained car can't handle. As for snow, all we have been getting up our way is a dusting. There is about six inches of packed snow on the ground, thats nothing for this time of the year. Strange weather patterns again this year. ATB!

Well, I'm certainly a bit South of you and we had some snow (but nothing tremendous!). Glad Honda updated their waiting room for you! Wait, the Acura had Starbucks coffee? That's wild! Hope you have a safe trip home.

Today Noah & I are working on unpacking and cleaning up the apartment after Winter Break. I'm also busy daydreaming about moving to Britain.

Just as snowy here, but I've only had to walk to my destinations. Be safe!

I woke up to a similar white blanket here in Philly and canceled a lunch date. Too many hills and fearless drivers on the road. I used to be fearless but that seemed to disappear when I turned 50. Love your photos!

Just stopping by for a visit. We had snow here too. I assume you are not that far away. I am glad you made it home safely. They seem to take pretty good care of the main roads.

Heavens to Betsy...that's a whollotta snow! If it snowed anywhere close to that down here in Texas, I just don't know we'd do? Shelter in place, I guess!

So glad that you made it home without incidence! Get a cup of hot tea, a good book, a warm blanket and our pal George and have a wonderful night! Oh, and don't forget DH too!
