A world transformed

I’ve been working on this project all morning and I tell you, I am mentally beat and I think I need a nap. Ha!

Last night, rather than listening to poetry or a book on archive.org, we listened to the sleet as it hit the windows of the breakfast nook. Earlier, we’d heard thunder. Snow with thunder doesn’t happen that often, at least not around here.

And this morning, my husband and I awoke to a world of white with a foot or more of snow on the ground. We spent a couple of hours very early outside, my husband shoveling before I even got up, and then we walked around the perimeter of the property to make a path.  I took photos while I was walking, and then came in and chose about 20 of them to use for a video for you this morning.

Unfortunately, something is completely whacked with Windows Live Movie Maker today. So after googling questions on how to resolve it, I decided to try to upload the movie directly through YouTube, hoping that there wasn’t a corrupt file somewhere.

If it sounds like I know what I’m talking about, I can assure you that I do not. I would love to be as tech savvy as many of you are.

Photos taken on a snowy morning in January, accompanied to music by Mara Carlyle.

But, by jove . . . I think I’ve got it. To watch it larger, click on the YouTube icon at the bottom right corner where you can watch on YouTube.

Have a beautiful day, all.

So, so lovely! And as much as I'm loving the daffodils and crocus that are coming up in my garden, your snow scenes are just magical. Glad you persisted with the video so we could share some of the magic that is yours today.

These are some of the prettiest snow photos I have seen. Lovely music, as well. George really looks good in snow.

...*applause* That was beautiful Kate! Stunning work! :o)

...It is snow that happens like that every so often that makes one want to never forget it. Just to stand in the moment and see it blanketing and clinging to everything and to listen to the silence it created, it's magical. Thanks for sharing this - so pretty!

...Blessings... :o)

You even captured the quiet that accompanies a freshly fallen snow like that. I enjoyed the video very much! Can you believe we only got 4 inches today though? xo ~Lili
