I love movies

This past weekend, I went to the local movie theater with my friend from school, Margie. Because of the rain, it was a perfect weekend to watch a flick. We went to see Hope Springs with Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones as an older married couple whose marital spark had bit the dust. They attend a weekend in Maine at an intensive counseling session with Steve Carell who plays their psychologist. I thought it was a sweet, quiet, and touching movie.

Quite unlike The Hunger Games, which I watched Friday night. Loved it, but it was super intense.

When I came home after watching Hope Springs, and throughout the weekend, I actually felt as though I appreciated my husband all the more. I still feel that way.

Here’s the trailer.

.

I love watching the previews of new movies while I’m at the theater, and am including two that I’d really like to see.

.

Looks interesting.

And then this one with Clint Eastwood.

.

I don’t go to the theater very often, so it’s kind of special when I do. Just wanted to share with you and hope your week is off to a good start ~

I don't go to movies very often either. especially "R" rated ones. My grandchildren from Chicago don't understand.. it's O.K. I have just made a stand and won't go to even PG13..I just can't trust them.

I saw this one last week with some girlfriends, too. There were bits of it I wasn't impressed with, but overall, I enjoyed it and feel it sent a great message about marriage. Now, if we can get more husbands to see it...

I love me movies too... but I don't see too many in the theaters anymore. These three quite entertaining, think I'll add them to my list!

Just love when people do movie reviews...i've been known to do a few of my own.. lol...Not interested in seeing Hope Springs just not my kind of movie...I agree that The Words looks interesting and i always love Clint but i'm not sure i'd pay movie prices to see either one . I'll probably rent them.
Hunger Games was so so.....book was much better(which is usually the case)I enjoyed the latest Bourne movie which i did not expect to...I also enjoyed Snowhite and the Huntsman ...not great but i liked it. I liked the Expendables 1 movie last year but not the latest Expendable 2...i felt like they were trying too hard....ahhh...most people don't agree with my movie opinions but i thought i'd offer them anyway. :) Hugs! deb

We almost never go to the movies because our local theater is horrible, but we did sneak in a movie while we were in Williamsburg recently. I can't wait to see The Words, it looks like it will be really good.

isn't it wonderful how art can open our hearts to our own situation?

I love watching movies. It's my favourite entertainment, since I don't watch tv at all. Thanks for the referrals.

Have you heard of The Intouchables? It's a foreign film with French subtitles. I've only seen the trailer, but it looks good!

I don't get to the theater much either; and the few times I have over the past few years have been kid flicks.... but at least the popcorn is good :)

I'll have to check out Hope Springs. I am into quiet and sweet these days as the world seems to be getting more and more intense. Escaping reality is one of the main reasons I go to the movies :)

it is nice to have a renewed sense of appreciation for someone; it brings happiness into both lives...

Haven't been to a movie theater since...Avatar. Wow. But we did just watch Hunger Games. ELPH is to analytical,. He kept trying to 'fix' the Districts problems. I'm hoping to see Hope Springs before it comes out on DVD, LOL! Word looks really good and so does Trouble with the Curve. Might have to get some Girlfriends together:)

Thanks for the reviews-I also seldom go to the movies-in fact till last winter the last movie I went to was on Golden Pond-a hundred yrs ago! But our little hometown theater was almost having to close-so to support it I started going to a few and it was hard to find non X rated-but they do a great job of finding not so popular ones and I've seen a few I like! After these trailers Carol I think I will try them out-Meryl is the tops anyway!! Thanks and have a great day!

I'm a home viewer too, ever since this lovely hearing impairment... Looking forward to Clint's new movie, although I'm disgusted with his chair antics. Also really looking forward to Hope Springs... just love those two.

I don't go to movies very often either but I enjoyed the trailers, Hope Springs looks interesting. I have read and seen Hunger Games and really enjoyed the story and thought the film was well cast, definately intense though.

I took myself to see Hope Springs Sunday afternoon and really enjoyed it. Very good script, well-designed sets that fit the characters, and terrific acting. There were only about a dozen viewers with me in the theater, including several couples, and it was fun to see who chuckled where during the action. My husband (home mowing the lawn) would have enjoyed it overall. As you say, it leaves one appreciating one's spouse. I wouldn't have had the patience Kay had with Arnold.

My computer didn't show the trailers.:(

I want to go see Hope Springs, too. My husband would go with me. I should plan a time.:)

I haven't been to a movie for soooo long! Love to see this one ... anything with Meryl is always good! Read a review about "The Words" in which the reviewer wasn't very positive of the movie. But what the hell, it looks good anyway!
