Pearls on a string

You know those blogs that you like to visit, the ones that make you feel better just for having stopped by?

When I began these chronicles, that’s all I ever wanted to be. I wanted this blog to be a respite. I had little desire to become famous, or to make money and began the blog simply to share my photography. And maybe some stories.

According to the mail I get, and from your wonderful comments, I guess you could say that I’ve accomplished my goal. I’m so glad of that and love to hear that you enjoy stopping by.

Thank God I’m not famous, but I can’t say the same for a certain dog that lives with us.

I started a Facebook page for George as a lark, after a friend talked me into it. And suddenly the dog has 80 friends. Go figure. I don’t visit the FB page as much as some of you do, so if you don’t hear from the dog it’s because I limit his computer time.

It was a quiet day here at the manor house where we live. We were planning on going somewhere, maybe a photo hunt, but decided to stick close to home and do some chores instead. And by that I mean that my husband did some chores and I took a long walk.

It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and the temperature was 45 degrees;  no mittens or hat required.

And then I came inside and started working on another You Tube video, which is below.

I hope you enjoy it. Being close to nature just makes me feel better. And even though I can’t respond to each of you personally when you comment, I’m so glad you stopped by. It just validates what I’ve tried to do with this blog. And I thank you for that.

Until tomorrow my friends,

that was a great video...I loved it !! and lucky you to have walked without all the extra gear....I'm hoping for a no mitten day tomorrow :)

so are you a mac user ? I was just curious as to how you "video".....I did my original video through youtube and then was notified that the music I picked wasn't authorized for "my use" so then I uploaded it through vimeo instead and didn't have any issues....go figure.

here's to more video days :)

My, my, my, what a swell video, CG, sat here smil'in the whole way thru....

And every time I heard that line in the song "...pearls on a string", I couldn't help imagining George singing: "SQUIRRELS ON A STRING!!!"

Wow, nice video! Great music to go with the beautiful photos. I'm glad you are feeling peaceful about where you are with your blogging. A blogger buddy of ours once categorized me along with your blog in terms of that special factor of simplicity that our blogs had, and I always considered it such a nice compliment to be grouped with the likes of you!!
p.s. How is George handling the fame?? ;)

I wonder if I should be upset (or at least should wonder) that George, a dog, has more friends on FaceBook than I do. LOL! Of course, he IS a lot cuter ;)

Oh my gosh, I am laughing out loud at Sweetpea's comment! Squirrel's on a string . . . how funny.

Beth, I used Windows Movie Maker. Sometimes YouTube gives me that message too.

Yup, feeling uplifted....that is what takes me to people's blogs, and hopefully what keeps them coming to mine.
Yours is always a treat.
And George is the star, there ain't a thing you can do about it now.
You have been upstaged, my dear.

It was a beautiful day yesterday. I took all the kids out to play and they got their fill of fresh air, which let them sleep soundly last night.

You, my friend, are always an inspiration ;0)

Sooo sweet. Was thinking your Blackie and my Middy are sooo alike, then got to the bit where she lets George get up close and personal. And the resemblance stopped. No WAY does Middy let Axel ANYWHERE near that close - he gets a swipe on the snout for his troubles. And he really only wants to play, but she won't have a bar of it!

Wished I could've heard the music, but the images were great on their own.

Sweet dreams

Love on the video that you followed the photo of the birds on the ground by the photo of the kitty cat. Looks like he's stalking... LOL

Thanks for the post and video - as Daryl says nice to see the cat - hope George wasn't too put out at having to share the spotlight.

It is a respite! One I wish I visited more often.
I let Maddie start her page because I was interested in what she might have to say. As it turns out, she views things simply but sweetly.

I love looking into the eyes of a dog and seeing their thoughts!

Have a lovely day!

You do, you grant peace and beauty, so important in any day. And you gave me Nick Drake with a video like this, didn't you? Pink Moon. His music has been very important to me over the last year.
