Goings on at the manor house

Today I took a walk in the snow with George.

It was difficult because the wind thought it was the boss of me.

Which, of course, it was.

Hello, pup.

: : : :

I didn’t do much else. At noon, I took a shower and put my pajamas back on.

I felt it was the right thing to do.

I wrote a post and read all of your answers to my questions. It felt good to feel connected.

And I like knowing what you’re all up to.

I made bruschetta and served it on one of the new porcelain trays that we won in the Dirty Santa game at my in-laws house. I love my new trays.

They’re from Sur la Table in NYC.

And then I ate it all.

* Burp *

I watched one of The Thin Man movies that Santa brought for me.
And every now and then, I snapped a bird photo.

Sometimes we just leave the camera by one of the windows where the feeders are.

I captured this little junco today. I like the light.

And then I watched the sun set.

And all in all, it was a very nice day.

: : : :

Psst ~ It’s not too late to get into the secret.

Until tomorrow, then . . .

Congrats on being a finalist on PW's site! After reading your very first post I'm in awe of how far you've come. Since your blog is my ideal of what I'd love my blog to become, your first post gives me hope. Thanks for showing me the way (tho I've along way to go).

Happy New Year! Looking forward to your 4th year of posts.

You went out into that wind on purpose??? I had to go get some cuttings from the garden, and I thought my cuttings and I were going to be blown into the next county. There were a couple of gusts that blew me sideways and I had to brace myself.

I spent a few minutes at the dining room window yesterday evening, watching the same beautiful sunset.

Well, I'm bummed.

In my eyes, there was no contest after you posted mama bird. The other photos were nice and some were gorgeous, but nothing compared to your photo. So I"m declaring you the winner in my world of make believe, (where it is always pleasant and everything is easy).

Congratulations on that stunning photo and for being the winner in so many people's eyes.

Country Girl said...

Oh, I was only a little bit bummed. It's all subjective, really. And after last year, with the male cardinal and having that as a crowd favorite and then not winning ~ I was totally prepared for it!

Just glad to have been honored, plus I've already sold several prints so that was a nice bonus! Thanks, all.

Love that little Jinko! So incredibly sweet. Looks like he's wearing an overstuffed parka out there in the cold.

The Junco is precious! I like your tray also. I have a thing about pretty dishes, now I'm inspired to find something new for myself.

Oh, and I love the CU of George's eye and the awesome sunset sky.
