My bounty is as boundless as the sea

The title of this post came to me as I was watching my husband prepare dinner while I worked on some pictures on the computer. It's from Romeo and Juliet by Wm. Shakespeare, and it goes:

My bounty is as boundless as the sea;
My love as deep.
The more I give to thee, the more I have;
For both are infinite.

I just love coming home from work, taking the dog for a walk for a while, and then coming home to dinner. When I open that door and smell those wonderful smells, it means someone loves me. And I really appreciate him. So at the risk of sounding all sentimental here, I'm saying it loud for all to hear. And now I'll stop. (I can just hear my sister-in-law right now, telling me I'm a hopeless romantic who sees the world through rose-colored glasses).

So, about these lovely flowers: When I came into work last Friday, there was a large bouquet of tulips on the counter and they were being admired by everyone. One of the parents had picked them that morning and brought them in for us and it was interesting to see the reactions. All day long, everyone who came into the office commented on the lovely flowers. And everyone seemed to have a smile on their face. At the end of the day, it was decided that I was to get to take them home for the weekend. I offered to split them up with people, but no one was listening to me. So I brought them home and took some pictures of them.

It turned chilly again on Sunday and now it feels more like spring. Our heater has switched on several times over the past few days, especially at night. This evening, I'm hanging out resting my knee that is still niggling at me and bothering me. No worries, just a little bit annoying. Top Chef is on and I enjoy that show.

If all goes well on Friday, I should have a satellite dish installed for my internet and I can finally ditch the dial-up. Does anyone else out there still use dial-up? I ask that because sometimes I think I'm the last one.

Oh, and I really don't care that I'm a hopeless romantic. It's served me pretty well over the years.

I used to pretend I wasn't a hopeless romantic but really I am... :)

The tulip photos are absolutely stunning... enough to bring the romantic out of even the toughest character!

Yay! For satellite!

I think tulips are just about the world's most perfect flower. Well tulips, peonies, daisies, roses, lilac, daffodils...

Yay for no more dial-up! The tulips are gorgeous. I have just one bunch of tulips growing [darned moles!] and yesterday they were just on the verge of opening, but last night we had a pretty hard frost so I am not sure they will make it now.

And what was for dinner?

Nothing says "I love you." than a good meal and a clean house... except maybe my manure pile disposed of... **sigh** :-)

Wait a minute, back up. Treasia, thank you very much for the compliment, but I am nowhere near where Ree is! Or Donna Boucher, who also posts on PW's new site. Thanks, anyway. I'm trying, and I think I'm doing better. I have learned so much from Ree in Photoshop and it's made all the difference.

One of my goals was to become better and I'm trying.

Dinner? Oh, what was it? Oh, it was pasta with homemade sauce. I love when he makes homemade sauce. I don't need a lot of pasta because it converts right to sugar in me, but it was excellent. And I even ate a cookie for dessert. He made them, too. Ok, two cookies. Shit. I ate two cookies. Damn! I'm gonna be a hopeless romantic with a butt the size of Montana.

Those flowers would make me smile too. Your pictures of them are beautiful.
I think it's much better to be a romantic and look through rose colored glasses than to use the dark and dreary ones that so many in the world use now.
I think it's great that something like a beautiful flower or a loving husband can remind you that there is still good in the world and that you have blessings to be thankful for.
I hope your knee keeps getting better so that you can be back to 100% soon.

The tulips are beautiful!

I'm thinking your dial-up must have been pretty good, because when I had dial-up, I couldn't get photos to upload.....of course, maybe that was just me being stupid. But, the satellite dish sounds great.....

I know you like PW for all the serious photography info you learn there, but your blog appeals to me 100X more than PW.

I also cannot imagine what is must be like to have a husband that cooks. You are very fortunate!!!

Thanks for stoping by my blog and leaving a comment! I really like the picture of the yellow and red tulip. You will LOVE not having dial up anymore. It's so freeing.

Would there be world peace if EVERYONE had a vase of tulips on their desk, or nightstand, or kitchen table? I'd like to think so.

You are the last person in the world to have dial-up. I'm contacting the media now. (grin)
