Simple Woman's Daybook for January 19

For Today

simple-woman-daybook-small

Outside my window, snow is gently falling.
I am thinking about making a cup of tea.

I am thankful for the fact that it's finally snowing! I know others in this country have had quite enough snow, thank you, but it doesn't feel like winter without it. And I enjoy winter.
From the kitchen I can smell a freshly peeled navel orange. I love that smell.
I am wearing a pair of Jones New York jeans, a long-sleeved t-shirt and a polartech pullover. Oh, and warm socks.
I am creating some photos I just took outside in the snow.
I am going to make chicken pot pie for dinner. And I'm wearing my old apron when I do so.
I am reading nothing at the moment but was just thinking of starting another book.
I am hoping that maybe it will keep snowing and school will be closed tomorrow.
I am hearing George chasing the kitty up the stairs.
Around the house is the smell of wood polish. I just dusted in the dining room.
One of my favorite things is the smell of that wood polish.
A few plans for the rest of the week are to finally start that knitting project. It's just a scarf, to return something I hadn't ordered, to mail my sheep to the winner of my contest.

Here is picture thought I am sharing

There's a dusting of snow and it's just beautiful in our yard.

You are invited to participate in The Simple Woman's Daybook, where you will see many others doing as you are, sharing little aspects of their day.

It's not too late to enter the contest below!!  TIME'S UP!

It ends at 6 PM (EST) today.

Until later, my friends . . .

I loved your outfit of choice today! And your photo was lovely - looks like powdered sugar was sprinkled onto the trees!

Oh that's a gorgeous photo. I envy you your snow, as we haven't received any this winter. Beautiful.

I'll have some of that chicken pot pie, thank you.

We're supposed to get a little snow here this evening, too. My kids are very excited, but I'm hoping it's just a dusting. Very pretty to look at, but I hate getting out in it! Lovely photo!

Sounds like a perfect winter day. I need to stop resisting and give myself to winter. Once Christmas is over I'm all done with it. It however is here for three more months.

Okay, I so don't like snow...but if we're going to get it, I want that powder dusting like you have. It's quite lovely.

Enjoy the snow. It's the best way to savour spring when it arrives.
