A birth announcement

Today I took George for a walk and decided not to bring my camera, knowing that after the walk I'd probably be spending hours on the computer looking at all the new pictures. So ix-nay on the amera-kay today. However, after walking down to the pond and seeing what I'm posting here, I walked right back on up the hill and got the camera, with the zoom attachment.
My husband and I can't believe the goslings are out already. This Canada goose pair brought their 3 just-borns into the pond today for their first swim. We think they've been living in the upper swamp area just below the pond berm because this is the first time we've seen them.
I managed to keep George at heel all the way down the hill, and had him stay and sit next to me while I crawled along the edge of the pond to get these photos. Oh, the lengths I go to just to share my pictures with everyone. Oh, if you only knew.
Hope you enjoy these. Have a great Monday.

AAAHHHHh... How sweet. We had geese when I was a child. My parents have 5 ponds on their property and boy, did ducks and geese like them!

Gorgeous pics!

Oh!! How adorable!

I've been on the lookout for baby deer or baby turkeys in my backyard. So far no luck.

Great shots.

I swear your word verification is trying to kill me...

Sweet little family! I really like when I see geese after the winter... I always know Spring is right around the corner! :)

Great shots! I never come across Spring babies in nature.

How cute. I haven't seen any babies around here yet, but I've seen plenty of signs of what's to come. My pond have numerous clusters of eggs, and the ducks and beavers in the wetlands should be producing soon!

...Awww, aren't they cute? Great photos too! We should have babies here soon too, the mother has been sitting on her nest on our neighbor's pond and the father has been over here swimming and hangin' out at our pond - typical guy! But he keeps an ever so watchful eye on her. I told my husband that I'd like to take a walk over to our neighbor's pond and he laughed and said, "just let me know when you do so I can have the camera ready to catch a photo of Papa Goose chasin' you outta there!" lol...

...Have a great Monday too!

...Blessings... :o)

How sweet. We have a pond near by and there's no babies there yet. Thank you for going to such great lengths for us, you pictures are BEAUTIFUL!

So glad that you did go back and get your camera. What a lovely site. We have a pond a few miles from here, and the canadian geese use it as a stop off point on their trips up and down on their travels. Is that their usual brood, three. Somehow I thought they had many more than that, but I don't know much about geese.

Great pictures -- I'm so glad you went back and got your camera! Yesterday I saw two Canadian geese flying, and being chased by what I think was a heron. It was nipping at their feet in flight.

Mary

Hey, I agree with Kacey -- word verification is definitely getting harder...

They are just darling! I'll have to go over to the bird sanctuary and see if there are any little ones born yet. I've been watching for the baby ducklings - they're all over here! But the Canada Geese stay at the sanctuary. Thank you so much for sharing such beautiful pictures. And glad you enjoyed "my" babies today, too. :D
