Mosaic Monday: Food & Drink

I’ve noticed that I seem to have accumulated many picturess of food and drinks in my photo files. So when I was thinking of a theme for this week’s Mosaic Monday, the answer was already there.

Mosaic Monday: Food & Drink

Mary at Little Red House hosts a weekly theme featuring mosaics. I made this one on Big Huge Labs and then uploaded it into my flickr account.

I enjoy taking photos of food. It doesn’t give me any backtalk and it’s very obedient.

And then I get to eat it, which is always a plus.

I just began contributing some of my cuisine photography on foodgawker. So if you enjoy this sort of thing, it’s the place to go. There’s usually a link to the recipe as well. See how much you learn coming here?!!

Have a fun Monday, everyone. I’m planning on having one and I’ll tell you all about it later. Oh, and Graduation was beautiful Sunday night. I’ll have to get some pics up.

Until then, my friends . . .

*growl* That was my stomach sending approval your way! Great mosaic! Quick question for you...do you crop for a square before you add to the mosaic or do you just let the mosaic pic the crop for you?

This is clearly a pleasure to view, this mosaic! Thank you for sharing this, Kate.

(your comment made me smile about he lighter fluid...oh, Lady...I could have used it on that cork, even smashing it just because - but then the entire purpose would have been washed away...patience is not easy to learn :>)

That iced tea looks like the best cool off drink! I keep forgetting to pick up some raspberry tea when I'm shopping. I guess I should make a list!

Strawberries are always so beautiful in photographs - and they always look so succulent and sweet - I am afraid that here in the uK that is not always the case when you bite into them. Love the mosaic.

You had me at the title Food & Drink. Your photos are always amazing. Since I just purchased a camera and started a blog and bake and cook all the time what is the secret to getting my food photos to look good? It's not like the food is jumping off the plate but my photos look very flat. I just baked the most delicious strawberry cookies and the photos look like mush on a plate:) Good thing I can laugh at myself or else I would throw the camera out of the window or better yet I should bake it in the oven:)

My daughter and I have a habit of taking photos of our food when we go someplace special but it never, ever looks as delicious as your mosaic. My art retreat was a feast for the eyes--a photographer would have truly enjoyed the location. ~Kathy

Aw, thanks all. Yeah, it's calorie free, Ellen!
And Joyce, I don't know what sort of camera you are using. I had a Sony Cybershot and would set it to the little flower (for close-ups). But what works really well is the Nikon D80 I'm using. With a macro lens. That should do the trick! Good luck.
