While having coffee this morning and visiting my favorite blogs, I stumbled upon an absolutely wonderful link provided by Jeannelle at Midlife by Farmlight. After visiting the link she posted, I wrote her and told her that I was going to shamelessly steal it and post it here.
Click on the words below to visit an article that was published in this week’s New York Times, and was written and illustrated by artist Maira Kalman. Prepare yourself to be enchanted and enlightened.
And for all those out there (you know who you are) who are crushing on Mr. Thomas Jefferson, you will not be disappointed.
I hope you enjoy. Until tomorrow, my friends . . .

Thank you Kate! This is wonderful!...Jefferson has to be the most interesting of our founding fathers...Monticello is a place I have been hankering to go to for a long time & my in-laws don't even live that far away from it...I can see this being published as a picture book...
Oh Kate... this was a wonderful link. Thomas Jefferson is a hero here in our house. Monticello is sooo close. I need to pay a vist and pay my regards to the man.

What an excellent link! I felt drawn into Thomas Jefferson's life. I need to read more on this man.
Thanks for the mention and for passing this link onward. Of course, I can't take credit for finding the link....I stole it from blogger Sempringham. Yes, Thomas Jefferson has to be one of the most fascinating characters in American history and Maira Kalman certainly found a unique way to showcase his life and home.
...Hi Kate! *waving* I am speechless! That is just the BEST thing I have seen in quite some time... It not only captures the eye and the mind but the heart as well. Thanks for this - I know I will visit it time and time again! :o)
...Have a great weekend! Blessings to the Country Girl Family... :o)
There are no elaborate words I can put in this comment... just a simple
Thank You
I love history and Lincoln and Jefferson were favorite reads starting in gradeschool when I learned to read.
And what a great gift from Maira Kalman. I'm so glad you found it and shared.

I really hate that the opportunity I had to go to Monticello I passed by because it was so hot that day. I wish I had gone.
thanks for the great link.
And I though that I was the only one in love with "Red."
Plus, you show a lovely spiral today in your side-bar "My Photoblog."

I will have to own up to never having read anything about Jefferson! But that will be remedied this summer - I'm going to make him my summer read!
