Everyday favorite

I am shamelessly posting more photos of our beautiful border collie, George. Originally, I had meant to post lovely close-ups of the Suffolk sheep that are here on the farm.
I took George out for the after work walk with me and took about 50 photos, seeing them come up on my camera screen and when I got back to the house to view them, there was nothing there!

This happened to me once before. I don't know what causes it but it's not going to get me all upset at the moment. Perhaps I only thought I'd seen them on my camera screen. I don't think that's the case, but oh well. The sheep aren't going anywhere and I'll get pictures later.

In the meantime, I have a willing subject who seems to love having his portrait taken. Click on photos to make larger, if you like.

America's Next Top Model.

* Border Collie, that is. *

Play with me.

George has just brought me a favorite stuffed toy and is waiting for it to be thrown to him.

Look at this face.

We love this dog!

The first photo was taken with my macro lens and the other two with the zoom lens. I can tell the difference, can't you?

Until tomorrow, my friends.

CG-Seriously the most gorgeous dog I have EVER seen!

I have my sky watch photo scheduled for tomorrow.

I can't figure out how to get my link on the sky watch website;(

Thanks for the compliment on my photo's. That means a lot coming from you!

He really is one gorgeous dog. He looks so soft.

Do you bathe that dog every day? I want to snuggle with him.

Country Girl said...

Ha, Mental P! You gotta be kidding! We bathe him when company comes and we don't have much company. We bathe him when he rubs in feces or whatever gunk he finds which happens every now and then. He did it Tuesday, if that helps and my husband bathed his backside. He's just young, just over a year old, and young puppies are soft I guess. He smells good, too.

I can see him from here lying on the couch. Hey! He's on the couch! The wrong couch! But I don't have the heart to wake him. His little feet are moving, probably chasing squirrels up trees. Or kitty cats. That's what he's looking at in that top photo.

George is the perfect model.....always! I can tell for sure that the last photo is with the zoom.

I like your sheep photo from yesterday (today). We used to have a small herd like that when I was a kid.

You lost your photos... I had a bad one too. They weren't lost but they weren't good. I had my ISO set at 1250 for some previous action shots at dusk. I neglected to turn the ISO back down. UGH! *hitting self* I took nearly 250 photos at ISO 1250 - most were horrible. It's all a learning curve, isn't it?

Your first pic produced some different color as well, unless they vary due to editing. Thanks for sharing which lenses you used, I always like to hear what others are doing.

I can see the difference between the lenses. Amazing. That dog is the prettiest thing. I especially love the second photo.

Country Girl said...

Carin, I was so upset to read that! 250 photos is heartbreaking! I force myself to turn it back to auto when I'm done fooling with it, but you never know. And that first one was with the macro in different light, about 50 yards from where the other two photos were taken. Less light with that zoom lens and more with the macro I guess.

Thanks, all. He is a sweetie!

Aww, he is so cute! I think we need a George Fan Club. Seriously. He could send us little autographed photos with pawprints. Wouldn't that be so cool?

Wow - seriously good looking dog! I have to say that my blog is also littered with doggy photos - my boxer loves the camera.

Suffolks are one of my favourite sheep breeds. I always think they look soooo chilled out ... in our house we call them the Jazz Sheep. We're hoping to start a mini-flock next year, with a couple of suffolks in there.

That dog always has a smile on his face! {{{George!}}}

Who doesn't love George? He is so photogenic and looks full of fun. And yes, I can tell the difference between the photos - a different quality about them, though I would never have been able to say what it was.

First, I enjoy checking in with your blog every day to see the latest and greatest news. Your photos are always fabulous (LOVE the pink sheep, BTW). Second, photos of George make my day. I mean REALLY they do! My life has been quite hectic lately and I haven't had time to post. But I always try to check my favorite blogs in the AM before moving on to work. It's Friday (yay!) but this has been a l-o-n-g week for me. Opening your blog and seeing photos of George makes my heart feel lighter. He is so beautiful! {{sigh}} I would love to snuggle my face in his soft fur. Sweet Georgie, you have no idea how much your adoring fans love you! Thanks, Kate!

Well now, Edward and I find ourselves quite taken with George! What a handsome dog!

We are visiting from over at Willow's place and have had a wonderful time looking around your lovely site!

Oh dear, I hope you find out what went wrong with the camera! I had a friend who's photographer at her wedding had his camera spoilt and he didn't know it at all and was clicking the whole time. So there ended up to be NO official photos at all :( Thankfully guests chipped in and sent them their own photos.

Aww.. he's so cute. You must spoil him rotten, because I don't know how you could say "no" to a face like that. Give him an extra belly rub from me.
*hugs*

George is a lovely dog. We too have a Border Collie who works on the farm (as opposed to our border terrier who thinks she is working when she chases rabbits) - they are such faithful hounds, aren't they.

He is beautiful, you have caught him so well.

...Oooo Kate, love the close-up shot of George's face! Those eyes, and that face - he could melt butter I tell ya... ;o)

...And when you thought you saw the photos on your camera screen, was that BW or AW? lol...That's 'before wine' or 'after wine'... ;o)

...Blessings...

Thanks, all. It would be fun to start a George Fan Club, wouldn't it? It could be on a widget that people could post their comments and a link to their blog. I just don't know how to accomplish it.

And tj, that would have been my first thought. But I wasn't. I don't imbibe during the week unless it's a special occasion. Although . . . I can be easily persuaded!

CG, I knew someone whose camera occasionally got nasty about allowing him to access his photos which he was certain he'd taken. They just didn't appear. About the third such time, he got wise to some glitch. When he went to read the card on his computer, all was there. Hopefully that's the case for you too.
